Ok I amy get flamed for this but.. I just stumbeled across a clip for the Chronological DOnald duck Treasures DVD a cartoon entitled Der Fuehrers Face in which Donald has a nightmare that he is enlisted in Hitlers army and Saluting him. I do not condone this at all. But seeing that this was released which in my opinion is on the same level as what some may deem as offensive if not more or less than SOng of the South. I feel that disney needs to realize they are missing an opportunity here. So I amguessing a cartoon depciting donald as a Nazi is ok but Song of the South is not...Makes no Sense to me.. I mean atleast Song of the South has an attraction. Not that I want to see a Nazi Donald Attraction.

Walt did a number of propaganda films for the War Department. Hardly pro-Nazi. All the films he did were actually written by or in cooperation with the WD with a view to convincing young, impressionable American children to sign up for the war effort as soon as they were eligible.

In some history books, the films he did were shown as one of the primary reasons there was so much under-age recruitment [boys enlisting before they were legally permitted to] during WWII. Whether there was much validity to that assessment,

I don't think we need anything to make Song of the South seem "not so bad". There's not a darn thing wrong with that movie no matter how you look at it.

The only people who would find offense with that movie are the bleeding heart, hyper-sensitive, self loathing, constantly whining, guilt ridden PC bedwetters who get out of bed every morning determined to find something to cry racism about.

I watched SOtS, and was at a loss to understand what all the hubbub is about. It was a good movie, but as far as this supposed racism to be found in the film it was, as Shakespear's play was called, much ado about nothing.

Man I miss SotS...

I now see why SM is my fave ride... I saw that movie during the 70's and 80's re-releases... Childhood memories are all good about that movie... And from what I read on here - the movie is harmless.
