SOUNDS DANGEROUS

I'm so glad SD is closed. Now we just need to get rid of American Idol and turn that entire building into a new attraction.

HEY...how about dusting off the old "Nostromo" show . ;)

Since Ridley Scott has done Prometheus (the kinda-sorta Alien prequel-but-not-a-prequel)....and Prometheus 2 is in the works....

I guess you haven't been keeping up. Sounds Dangerous hasn't been operating for at least a year, if not more. So it is no longer an issue.

Personally I liked it. Why? Because I have never been a totally visual person. I grew up listening to the radio when they had shows like Green Hornet, Superman, The Lone Ranger and so on. The purpose, that was missed by everyone in their desire not have to think, is that if you have sound then you can imagine the scenery. You don't need to be shown. Remember it replaced the old folly sound show which emphasized the use of sound affects to convey a message. There was no easier way to illustrate that then to submerge you into a situation where all that was available was sound. They set up the scene before they put you in darkness, all it took was a minor amount of imagination to follow the story. Sadly, Disney did a terrible job of getting that message and purpose across so everyone left saying, what a rip-off they didn't even have a picture to watch.

Well, in my opinion, we all lost something in that attitude, even if it was just a chance to close our eyes and sleep.:(
Well if unkadug is correct, it closed on May 18th of this year so it hasn't been that long. And I do agree that it could have been better if Disney had done a better job at getting the message across. In my opinion though, the whole experience was bad. The headphones were disgusting, my chair was beyond uncomfortable, and you could tell that it was an attraction that Disney just didn't care about anymore or ever.

Although unkadug just admitted to being "an idiot", :D was correct about the OFFICIAL closing. However, as is the usual procedure with WDW, it was unofficially closed long before they finally decided to make it public.

Yeah...most attractions will go "seasonal" before being shut down for good.

But "seasonal" can mean different things to different attractions. Some attractions stay open indefinitely as "seasonal" while others simply never reopen at all as "seasonal".

Ohh I see, I wasn't aware of that. I was there this summer and it said it was closed temporarily so I figured it was because we were there during the gay days because that has been the situation with that attraction in the past because of it being a dark room.

Like Carousel of Progress... it has been deemed as open seasonally but "I HOPE" it will never officially close.

CoP came close to the same fate. The only thing that saved it was the fact that they were redoing Alien Encounter to Stitch and they needed to have a place for people to go in Tomorrowland. Also there was a huge grass routes screaming match brought about by the possible closure that, I believe got Disney to reconsider the decision to close it up. It's still on life support as far as I can tell and there is no saying when it might draw it's last breath. I'd hate to see that happen, but I'm thinking that it is inevitable.:(
