I guess you haven't been keeping up. Sounds Dangerous hasn't been operating for at least a year, if not more. So it is no longer an issue.
Personally I liked it. Why? Because I have never been a totally visual person. I grew up listening to the radio when they had shows like Green Hornet, Superman, The Lone Ranger and so on. The purpose, that was missed by everyone in their desire not have to think, is that if you have sound then you can imagine the scenery. You don't need to be shown. Remember it replaced the old folly sound show which emphasized the use of sound affects to convey a message. There was no easier way to illustrate that then to submerge you into a situation where all that was available was sound. They set up the scene before they put you in darkness, all it took was a minor amount of imagination to follow the story. Sadly, Disney did a terrible job of getting that message and purpose across so everyone left saying, what a rip-off they didn't even have a picture to watch.
Well, in my opinion, we all lost something in that attitude, even if it was just a chance to close our eyes and sleep.
