Sorin over Florida

you guys act like the guy who made this actually had the ability to go flying and capture all the angles like Disney does. For spliced together footage showing what can be found as proof of concept that Soarin over Florida could work it's amazing. I honestly didn't realize there were that many different areas in Florida.

You could soar over the beaches of Miami and the gulf coast (too very different style beaches)
soar over the orange groves
soar past the space shuttle launch
soar over the disney cruise ships
soar over a football game
soar over the city of Miami
soar over a swampy area
soar over all 4 parks at Disney leading up to soarin over SSE with illuminations going on in the background.

I'm sure there's a few other places I haven't thought of as well, some of the wonderful golf courses in Florida for example as well. There really is more to our state than swampland. Were this the actual video Disney used I'd be bored, for what it is as a proof of concept then it's a wonderful video.

I still stand by the concepts:

DCA - Soarin' over California
WDW - Soarin (over the Land) dealing with natural wonders and biomes
DLP - Soarin' over the World (major places across the globe)

The nice thing would be that DCAs and DLPs could likely be spliced to gether to get most of WDW's. It wouldn't take too many extra shots, and the US provides almost every biome somewhere on its soil, so we wouldn't have to fly across the globe to get the shots.

i think for wdw it should be soarin over america. you can use the grand canyon, mount rushmore, the "canyons" of nyc, the tundras and glaciers of alaska, the rocky mountains, yellowstone park, etc.

A change would be welcomed but California was the better choice with all the landmarks plus you can go snow sking in the morning and then water ski in the afternoon.

I thought it was amazing concidering it wasn't done professionally.
Imagine what one could do with a $$$$$$ budget.
I think there are plenty of great sites in Florida to make a replacement for Soarin over California...you just need to have it done by professionals with enough money to do it properly.

I enjoyed the youtube video for what it was. I would hope that they would not take the same script and then film similar sights (big bridge, river etc...) in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:State w:st="on">Florida</st1:State>, or the <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">US</st1:place></st1:country-region>, or world. What ever they decide to do I hope that the final since is of Disney World I just like that ending.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Wow... I didn't realize that I lived in a state that was nothing more than Miami, a lot of agricultural swampland, and the space shuttle.

There must be a lot left to develop here

Maybe some kook from California will build a theme park empire in rusty ole' Orlando in Mosquito County.

I agree the US could provide the majority of the films, but Epcot just has a bit more of a global theme in Future World. Hence the reason I thought some global landforms would be appropriate. Plus, areas like jungles, rainforests, and volcanic islands (although Hawaii would be included, it isn't mainland USA) would simply be better represented elsewhere.

Good call. Flying over the different topographical locations around the world would fit in with the Land and add plenty of variety to make it interesting. I don't see why we would want to limit the locations to a single state, or a single country for that matter. Remember, its Future World and World Showcase.

Deserts of the middle East, the tropical rainforests of South America, the Alps, cities from accross the globe, oceans, lakes, the arctics, and of course, farm land. They can do a ton with this attraction. They just need to hire a crew to go film it all. It might take a little longer and a lot of traveling, but it would be so worth it.

And honestly, Disney knows people are getting sick of clones. And this being a screen attraction, it should be the easiest to make an original version of. With it just having opened not too long ago, and with Nemo at the Seas just opening, I can see where changing the Soarin' video its not on the top of their priority list, but I'd hope it won't be too long before they update it.
