Program Guide
In the summer of 2015 -
@TheOriginalTiki and
@JokersWild hosted 1984: An Imagineering Competition. This design mirrored that of the CBS show, Big Brother, where a Head of Household was chosen after every competition event, Project Vetos were galore, and a 'houseguest was eliminated each week'
In the Fall of 2020, the 1984 competition event was resurrected for a return and a nuanced format. 1986 hosted by
@mickeyfan5534 and
@TheOriginalTiki - with assistance from various guest judges, took the 1984 format and modified it for a new era. Combining elements of park design and strategic gameplay together, they developed a new type of competition. With that, the task throughout the season was to design a Blue Sky Disney Resort - featuring theme parks, hotels, and a variety of shows and entertainment. Each project would be a piece of this pie, and throughout, the players on the teams would create and break alliances until one ultimate winner was crowned.
The end result was a smorgasbord of imagineering - the entire project was developed and saved onto a Google site for all to see. With Stanza XIII, we are focusing on a specific park within the Blue Sky Resort, zeroing in on one element of the project that was never completed.
The 1986 Blue Sky Park is at its core, a blue sky Magic Kingdom park (location unknown intentionally so any type of attraction is up for grabs) Each land represents the foundational elements of a Magic Kingdom park, but presents them with new themes and visions.
For example:
Main Street U.S.A. is
Harbortown U.S.A.
Guests begin their journey through a land of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy at the thriving New England port Harbortown U.S.A. From bustling brokers to headless horsemen, to wayward wickies to maniacal muppets, this one-of-a-kind port of entry will surely leave a strong first impression.
The Hub is
Port Voyage.
Beyond the harbor lies a majestic kingdom ripe with imagination. Port Voyage is the park's hub, the intersection of the waterfront realms of Disneyland, and the epicenter of entertainment and live shows for the park. The ornate yet lived-in Snow White's Castle dominates the skyline of this port and represents the park icon.
Adventureland is
Adventure Atoll.
A Mysterious Island, surrounded by thick fog. Diverse biomes, populated by creatures never before seen. A Maori Village, aware of the dangers to come. An Ottoman Colony, never stopping in its self-destructive expansion. And the Lost City of Atlantis, resting nearby. This is not the Adventureland you remember; this is Adventure Atoll.
Fantasyland is
Seasons of Fantasy.
The traditionally "Fantasyland" has been restructured into four distinct minilands, each themed to a season of the year. They surround the Tree of Seasons. This mystic tree, from which a magnificent carrousel calls home, spreads it's seasonal spirits to the rest of the Fantasyland Kingdom! This is Seasons of Fantasy.
The park's 'Square' (Liberty/New Orleans, etc) is
Four Winds Square.
As children, it was so easy to believe and to hope. To believe in the goodness of mankind and to hope for a brighter tomorrow. Four Winds Square might seem simple or childish on the surface, but look deeper and you will find a land dedicated to these lofty ambitions for the human race that get largely lost as we age.
Tomorrowland is
CenterCore Expo.
Set in the near future, CenterCore Expo is a land focusing on progress towards a green utopian future, through scientific advancement in all different fields, from atomic discovery to agriculture, energy, resource conservation, and a good look at the future.
The project in its entirety can be seen at the link below:

The one 'land' that was missing however, was
Frontierland. And now that we have crossed over into the 1986 Universe, that is going to be our task!
