My DS6 said to my husband last night, "Daddy, you know we're not really staying at POR, right? We're really staying at WL!" :ROFLOL: My husband didn't believe him at first, he even thought I was in on the joke when he asked me if it was true, but when I showed him the confirmation on the WDW letterhead, he got so excited.:sohappy: Honestly, I'm surprised that we all held out from telling him for this long, so DH now knows and is even more excited for Aug. to get here.

I love surprises on vacation. We drove down to the world in 2002, 2 cars 10 people. My friend couldn't afford to stay deluxe and my brother (who anyone who reads my posts knows) loves the Poly. He decided to pay the difference so we could stay at the Poly. The plan she thought was to arrive at the Poly and park, have lunch then hop the monorail to the MK for a few hours then later that evening drive over to CB to check in. We arrived at the Poly, and her youngest realized she had flip flops on and wanted her tennies to walk around the park. They went back to the car while my son video taped, brother and I waited in the check-in line. When they got back, she saw us in the check in line, realized what was going on the look on her face was priceless. Hurray on the surprise.

WHAT? Wasn't that bad, not like I lied to them or anything:lookaroun
Beside's 18 yo DD graduated 3 weeks ago and during Thanksgiving Break last year she had made a comment bout how'd she would love to go back to WDW so it just all kinda fell together....It'll be a HUGE surprise for them:sohappy:
Beside she grew up on me too fast, seems like yesterday she was 10 and we were at MK for the first time, I turned around and she was no longer my little girl...Its gonna be so much fun, it has been extremely difficult to not tell them but it'll be worth it...:ROFLOL:

This is basically how our trip to WDW came about as well. Our daughter graduates next Friday - and she told us ages ago how all she would like is one last true "family vacation" before she heads off to college. We took her to WDW for the first time when she was 4 and I can still remember the look on her face as she walked up Main Street! I can't wait to get there again!

Have a GREAT trip and enjoy the time together! :)

I'm a teacher in NJ. One of the parents of my students did the "surpise the kids with a trip to Disney". They had never been to WDW before. They woke them up in the am and said let's go- we have a plane to catch. (The ages of the kids were 6-8-11) They were in such a state of shock they sort of missed out on the first couple of days. I wonder if the build-up would have been more exciting for the parents and kids.
