Something weird that I've noticed

I didn't know they were discontinuing the Disney/SW merchandise... My son keeps talking about getting a Darth Goofy on our upcoming trip, I'll have to start planting the seed that it might not happen

Oh man! Does this mean that my Star Wars Mr. Potato Head collection won't get any bigger? I missed out on Han Solo the first time around and was planning on getting one with the new release. Darth Tater is still my favorite with Mashter Yoda a close second..

Haha that is quite amusing. If it were just Mickey and Minnie I'd wave it off as nothing, but it is quite a coincidence that this was true for three "families" of characters.

Now it seems that none will exist anymore, unfortunately.

Guess we have to get serious and take the fun out of things.

Star Wars is rather serious overall, so it's ok if Star Wars is now presented in more serious tones.
Not everything has to be made fun and silly, let alone Mickey-fied - that's part of Disneys pre-SW problem with the teen age boy population: even the villains couldn't be taken seriously.

Didn't know that was a target area. Yes I know Disney should want everyone but they don't spend a lot of money. Plus the teen boys in my family loved Disney.

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.

Lol. No. I consider lots of killing, fighting, destruction, you know wiping out millions of people on a single planet etc "more serious" than the usual Disney property. These movies weren't created, originally, for the stroller set.
Fun? Yes. Serious? Certainly.

Not exactly Schindlers list etc. It's a Space opera

Didn't say it was, nor did I compare it to that. I believe we are talking about Disney properties here (and those represented in the parks)

If you want yo change the playing field, start a new thread.
There are plenty of "more serious" themes and films in the Disney lineup plus at the theme parks buti think it best we agree to disagree

Yes, can't disagree on the first, the second is being driven by non-verbal comm over distance.
We're just getting carried away over toys.
No problem my friend.

Thanks!

PLEASE. Even discounting the current somewhat silly Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures, Star Wars has ALWAYS had a silly side. R2-D2 and C-3PO showed up on Sesame Street where the former proceeded to hit on a fire hydrant. There is room for both serious and silly, and neither should be excluded.

It's amusing to make a comment that was not exclusive only to have it argued back at me that an exclusive argument can't be made.

I enjoy a good mashup as much as anyone (as evidenced by my "Pooh Dameron" tshirt I love so much), but I understand Disney taking Disney-Star Wars mashups out of the parks. They are currently working on making these immersive Star Wars experiences, and it wouldn't make sense to have the "real" Kylo Ren menacing you in one place, but then you turn around to see Darth Goofy in his underwear.
