So my little sister is turning 18 this year and I really want to do something special for her whilst we're at WDW as a birthday treat. Is there any experiences or restaurants that anyone would recommend and what sort of prices these are. Just looking for a few ideas :)

I like the suggestions listen by figmentfan!! The cakes made by WDW are fantastic. The wishes dessert party is excellent as well. if you really want to splurge, you can always do a private fireworks cruise for wishes or illuminations. if thats too steep, the pirates and pals fireworks cruise from the contemporary is a blast too. hace a great time celebrating 18!

I also agree with the cake...there is a great "how to" on this link...

I've had 2 cakes done by the Contemporary's bakery and helped a friend with her cake from the GF. Lurkyloo/Carrie lists the base prices. If you go to Cakes by Location you can get base prices. I've always done the fancy fondant cakes which start around $75. They rise in price based on flavors, decorations, and a few other factors. They a MUCH better than the podium cakes that you can order when checking into a meal, and while they will try and push you into chocolate or yellow cake, you can usually work on getting any of the flavors offered.

Thanks to everyone so far for your ideas, I've had a look at the Dessert Party and was just wondering how it works, the website said the event starts one hour before the fireworks so does that mean we can stay from that time until the party ends (I'm assuming everyone arrives at the same time?). Also the website prices vary what would it cost for the two of us to attend(We're going in July)? Is there any policy on if Wishes is cancelled? Once again thanks guys for helping me out :)

For dessert party, you line up just before 9 and they let you in group by group (i.e. your party) and give you a wrist band. There is assigned seating, but you really only sit at the table while eating. Most everyone crowds the rail for the projection show and then again come Wishes time. So yes, you can stay in that reserved area of the terrace the entire time. Even with crowding of the rail, there are plenty of spaces for all and it beats the chaos out in the park. I think it goes on even if Wishes is canceled, but not 100%...I think there's some disclaimer about it when you book. I don't know what the July prices are, but I know we paid a higher amount going right before Thanksgiving. It was a little over $90 for a family of 4 w/2 children.

I took this from my old confirm in case it helps...
