Somebody stole 8,000 DCA tickets (insert your own joke here)

Alas, it is no joke, some jerk did steal them, but they already have been voided and replaced. (Decades ago, it would have been bad with the old paper stock without barcodes).

Even though the Disney tickets are now worthless, people should be wary of buying resold admissions to the theme park.

"We recommend that guests purchase tickets only from Disneyland resort or an authorized retailer," Jaeger said.

The front of the tickets look like any other, Otto said. The back however notes that admission is valid only on Tuesday for "1-day after dark in the park event," and "California FFA Association" is imprinted on them.<<

my gut tells me lots of people going to get scammed with these stolen tix. Will be interesting to see how Disney handles it if folks show up with them, meaning will they help them out or tell them they are out of luck. The latter I'm guessing. Buyer beware.

Definitely the latter. My friends and I always used to joke that Mickey Mouse would shake down guests by the entrance demanding an entrance fee lol. "where's your wallet? ha-ha"

I agree Disney's greedy, but they really don't owe a thing to anyone buying tickets from shady unofficial sources.

Agreed, people need to do their research and be more cautious with their money. I'm really hoping people didn't get scammed but there are cultures all around the world who might not know any better.

The first questions Disney will ask...

Did you read the ticket?, the one that said....valid only on Tuesday for "1-day after dark in the park event," and "California FFA Association"?

I don't feel sorryfor anyone dumb enough to buy them. If it wasn't clear, maybe a different story.....

Customer walks into Apple Store:
"Uh, yes, I bought this iphone from a man at a flea market. He told me it was an iphone, but I've found out it's an empty iphone shell with no electronics inside. You can give me back my $200, right?"

I have no sympathy for anyone who buys a fake ticket from a non-Disney reseller. They are idiots, and this won't be the first time they are scammed out of something when they make yet another really bad decision for themselves and their family.

At least this time it was just cheap-yet-fraudulent tickets to an amusement park, instead of the time they bought "new" tires on Craigslist that were actually patched retreads that blew out 1,500 miles later, or "genuine Louis Vuitton" luggage that they bought at the La Habra Swapmeet for $80 that started to peel six months later, or the $150 Rolex watch they bought on Ebay that a month later turned their wrist green and needed to be reset every 48 hours.

Again, these people are idiots that don't deserve our sympathy.

When I was visiting a market in Turkey, there was a sign for "Genuine Fake Rolex." Truth in advertising, I guess. ;) But seriously, people should know better than to jump at a bargain price offered by strangers! There are legitimate 3rd party vendors who can obtain tickets at a slightly lower price (large companies through their HR dept, AAA used to do so - not sure if still true - military bases, etc) but Craigslist, etc - buyer beware!
