Trip Report Some Trips Are Worth Melting For - A swelteringly magical 8 days in the happiest (hottest) place on Earth

Hi all! Just got back from 8 days in WDW and am so excited to write this trip report. This was my 25th time in WDW and I have NEVER experienced heat like this. But it was still an amazing trip and we had a blast. Looking forward to reliving it all while I create this post!

When: August 4-11
Where: Pop Century
Who: Me, my mom, and my two kids.

Thanks for reading!

Thanks for sharing your trip!! I can't remember all my thoughts as I went, but here's a few :joyfull:

So sad Haunted Mansion was closed for y'all! Your daughter's outfit was awesome, so glad she at least got some pictures outside the ride. We also LOVED Storybook Dining! It was just me and my 4yo, so the cost didn't hurt too bad, but she was so obsessed with the queen it was worth every penny. I've heard that from several people about the Epcot After Hours. The park just has too big of a footprint and too few rides to make that kind of event worth it. My husband wants to do the Wine & Dine after party with me, and I just don't think it's going to be worth the cost at all...can't talk him out of it 🙃

Hope you had a great trip to the halloween party!

I read your MNSSHP trip report before finishing this on. When I came back to finish this, I literally exclaimed "the crayons!" So glad you all had two great trips this year!

The Aerophile is very frustrating to try to ride. I was gifted a free ride for two people from a member here and my husband went to Disney Springs 6 times during our trip and only on the last visit was it open. It was a neat experience but not worth the hassle.

There is also a similar balloon in Disneyland Paris and I only saw it operating a couple times too.

We just got back from Disneyland Paris and I had to come back to this thread and comment - we were there 4 days and saw it operating many times (we walked passed it several times a day as we were staying at Newport Bay). Our last day we decided to do it, so my friends went ahead to reserve and they were told it was closed for the day due to too much wind. My friend asked them if it would re-open at any point that day since it was our last day and they said definitely NO, they were done for the day. So we decided to do more park time instead. On our way back to the hotel at 10pm, guess what was in the air with a bucket full of people???? I seriously could not believe it!

We were with friends and I joked to them that I hoped they didn't want to ride the balloon because since I was involved it was definitely not going to happen, and I was right!

You seriously are not supposed to ride in that darn balloon 😟
