Some scheduling Disney trips, some cancelling

From AOL news

..."People pick the U.S. and the Caribbean because they think they are safety zones,'' said Aimee Ricca, owner of Bonne Amie Travel & Dreamtime Journeys USA in Rockport, Maine. ``We've had a lot of Disney trips, because people view that as the ultimate safe place.''

Not everyone is convinced Disney World is safe, however.

Julie Silver of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., canceled a road trip to Disney World this weekend and plans instead to drive her 5 and 8-year-old to Universal Studios, which she views as less high-profile and, therefore, a less likely terrorist target.

Silver's concerns over air travel also have delayed her plans to see family in New York.

``I try not to be paranoid,'' she said. ``You try to think there's a greater chance of being hit by a bus, but it still makes you nervous. That apprehensiveness, it's not worth it.''

Looks like Disney will get some business from people cancelling trips overseas. Maybe they will make up for people afraid of DW.

3 more months and we'll be there. We've no plans to cancel.

I was at WDW March 2-8:D and I'll be there May 17-24:sohappy:

If they gave me another weeks vacation starting tomorrow and a plane ticket I would go to WDW tomorrow:)

Terrorists will not scare me off:cool:

Yes I would even go to that Disney Park in you know where Europe tomorrow if someone wants to pay for the trip. Any takers huh huh?:D

If I had the means right now, I would be on the plane. They are offering some nice deals right now. Stay between 4/23 and 7/3 (must book by 4/26) and get:
Value - $74 night
Mod - $94
Deluxe - $139

Post 9/11 I got an e-mail offer for Mods at $89. It got me to go in January. (I ended up with a Deluxe for $99 but that is another story.)

I'd would seriously think of going now but I have never been to WDW during the Christmas season. I love DL at Christmas, I can just imagine 4 parks all decked out.

We just booked our trip for October last week and I'm certainly glad I'm not traveling any time soon. I honestly would not want to be travelling anywhere right now. I know it's still safe to travel in the US, since most places have the best security during this time. I just don't want to go on vacation because people are fighting overseas and my mind is on winning this war right now. When we get past this and we start heading towards a time of peace again, then I will want to get out of here and have some fun. October is a long ways off and there's still time for everything to settle down. I know we'll win and if anyone is thinking of cancelling their trip - don't. I think it's best to just postpone until a good deal later.

To me Disney represents what is magical about the world. It lets me forget what else might be happening in these troubled time and reminds us not too take life to seriously, re meet our inner child and most importantly have fun! I cannot think of a more perfect place to spend a holiday..especiallaly at the moment.

To Becky

I wouldn't go to the Disneyland Paris if i were you its VERY small compared to WDW and even though i live about 2 hours away from it i would still rather fly 9 hours to Florida!!!!!
