Some planning questions for December

Tickets are on sale for MVVCP, do I need to buy these tickets this early? I wasn't planning on booking accomodations and buying my park hoppers until much later in the year. Will WDW give me a discount on the hard ticket event if I book my whole trip at the same time? Has anyone ever booked through AAA? I recently joined and I was wondering if the discount they offer is worth it. I'm kind of nutty with trip planning details and the thought of having an intermediary is a little unnerving, for example if I book through AAA can I still call the WDW resort a week before my trip and make room request? Or does WDW treat guest who book through AAA differently? Sorry in advance for the insane questions.

Hi,

I'm not quite sure of the AAA details but I've heard that the discounts are worth it and I don't think there are any real problems with the booking. Perhaps someone else can help you out a little more.

Regarding accomodation and MVMCP. I would book ASAP as rooms for december (especially near christmas) will be gone quickly. I think the POP Warner weekends happen in earlier December which pretty much max out the value resorts too.

I doubt you will get a discount for booking MVMCP at the same time as your accomodation but it might be worth asking the queston.

I think it all depends on when you are going in December. I think if you are going early December, you might have a little leeway. But I personally would book everything as soon as you can. Seems like December is becoming a popular time to travel to the world. When we went in Dec 2008, I had the vacation booked by the end on January '08 and purchased my tickets for MVMCP the day they went on sale. I'm a bit on a planner so I like to know that I will definitely get the things I want when I go on vaycay.

I have not heard of many MVMCP events selling out except for the last few, even that does not happen until fall. There is some benefit (discount) for some dates, but that is good for months.

Possibly more important is Candlelight Dinner Packages if you have a specific time and date and restaurant in mind. While some packages can still be picked up "day of", if you have something specific in mind, best to reserve that now.

AAA discounts for rooms and events are good, and well worth the cost. There is a difference however between AAA packages and discounts. The packages require using a AAA agent for booking, discounts can be had through most travel agents and by presenting your card at Disney.

While AAA is OK, if you are considering using a third party, I suggest talking with a rep from Kingdom Konsultants. They are a long time friend to this site, and I have the pleasure of knowing many of the agents. They provide a personal touch, and if you make changes, have questions or whatever, you can follow up with the same person each time. No cost to you, so consider checking with them.
