Some one driving on Richard Petty track tonight.

Could it possibly be NASCAR drivers? I remember reading somewhere that a few drivers may use the track as practice. Given that the track is open during the day for sales, classes, etc. A high-profile driver using it at night makes sense.

I doubt whatever was running on the track at 10:30 PM was a stock car. To my knowledge, there's no lighting at the Walt Disney World Speedway so any car driving at that time would need something a little more substantial than stickers for headlights.

Actually, STOCK cars have lights. It's just that the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing doesn't use stock cars anymore... :)

No lighting? That seems like a safety issue if the track were to be open at night.

The car was a street car. I rolled the window down to try and hear it and could not. It looked liked Honda Accord tail lights.

At first, I thought maybe Bob Iger was having some fun. But he doesn't drive an Accord. Or a Honda for that matter.

In all seriousness, can't you now drive sports cars at WDW? It obviously wouldn't be an Accord, though.

Resurfacing on portions of the track sometimes calls for late evening 'test' runs... happens quite frequently actually

It would be an issue, but the Richard Petty Driving Experience usually wraps up for the day at 5 PM.

You can. Maybe they're testing a new "Drive your own car" program for people who don't want to rent a Porsche!

Driving experience has high end cars now, additionally they do run at night for special events that can be booked. AMP energy drink had one a couple moths ago and where out on the track very late. Another though would be Top Gear filming and episode. The US version come through Florida a lot.

That gate is open and unlocked 95% of the time I leave MK. I've been tempted to drive in but would rather not get in trouble.

I know the RPE uses camaros and such as part of Disneys and GM's deal, so that could be a camaro from the RPE being used as a test car as someone posted above about testing sections.
