Just came back from my trip to Disney and I have a few musings, mostly good, some bad.
Do not book too many buffets, they tend to be repetitive in terms of food and how many days in a row can you gorge yourself like that at all you can eats, lol
the toasters at the value resorts at least need replacement in the worst way, I had to go back to my room to shave again three times while waiting for my toast to pop. Watching cold molasses go uphill would have been faster.
Le cellier was amazing, food and service was awesome.. Not sure if any of the restaurants is really worth two table service but what the hell. I'm a canadian so the server had everyone from my part of the country come to visit which was a nice touch, one even had a parent only a couple of kms from where I live. Which when you are talking Canada is amazing, we are pretty huge.
My refrigerator was a pile of junk but I did not get charged for it, so it is all good.
The new star tours was amazing, I loved it, the whole idea that it can be a different ride each time you go on it keeps you pumped.
I went to universal for the first time and Disney beats them in service, cleanliness, politeness etc, hands down. Gotta say Harry Potter is awesome though and I love butter beer. Fast passes cost nothing and work well, by comparrisson the express passes at Universal are expensive and for all but a few rides un needed, not sure if it is a good value or not. Universal is also too compact and if you are in a popular area you cannot move around easily, by contrast Disney is so spread out that even in large crowds there is space and the crowd size can be decieving because there is so much space( I don't like being crowded)
The humidity was brutal and the constant threat of thunderstorms was annoying, couple that with hurricane season and I am not sure I will go at that time of year again, I'll probably stick with spring.
We had the luxury of being off resort for the first few days we were in florida and I cannot see me spending much on the resort ever again, I will do what I did this time and pick up everything I need off resort first, prices must be over 100% mark up or something.
Overall it was a good time, actually great time and I cannot wait to start planning another Disney vacation( just as soon as I get the racing stripes off my visa, lol)
I never did any running, which in hindsight was a huge mistake because getting back at it has been brutal and I put on about 10 lbs.
So yes I love Disney and the cast member hospitality as usual was top notch, my housekeeper not only kept my room clean but my kids looked forward to seeing what she did with our room window each night as she would create a display with their stuffed animals every day. Thank you Maria
All in all top notch, I love Disney
