Solo Trip

I have never been on a solo Disney trip and I would like to go on one sometime, so could you tell me your experience on solo trips. I have heard that it is easier to talk to people at Disney when your solo, but dining could be awkward.

Solo trips are great! No one to worry about but yourself. I ate mostly counter-service, but the one sit down I did at France was lovely, my server was most attentive. Single rider lines are pretty quick, too. Take time to slow down and really appreciate all the little things that you wouldn't ordinarily notice when you're rushing around in a group.

I've gone solo before. It was fun to experience but I'd personally much rather go with someone and share the fun.
Solo trips include both Good and Bad.
The Good... No waiting on someone else. No decisions to choose other than what you want to do. Quicker through bag check & turnstiles. Single rider lines faster than FP most times. Stretch out in the bed. No waits for the shower or sink. Free to do things on the spur of the moment. Move down the sidewalks faster. Easier to find parade spots. No arguments, fights to referee. Cheaper cost of trip. Easier to find/ get a seat on bus, boat, ferry, monorail.

The Bad... No one to share the excitement with. No one to scream on rides with. Eat meals without conversations across the table. No discussions about tomorrows plans. Watch families interacting and think of your family.

I did a solo trip last December for 7 days and really enjoyed it. Did the DDP and found that to be a bit much. There were a couple of times that I felt a bit awkward sitting by myself in a crowded restaurant. Overall it was great to take my time when I wanted, go were I wanted without worrying about others. I'm planning to go solo again in December.

did my first solo trip this year also.
i never once felt funny or out of place, of course I strike up conversations with strangers at Disney all the time, so it was nothing new to me. and i really did enjoy meeting them.
i purposely did all the things that i can't do when i take the kids. i rode mission space, space mountain, test track, big thunder mountain, splash mountain, everything! what a treat!
i mostly ate counter service, but some table service. i even got into BOG for lunch. no problem, my iPad was my companion. sat and read, checked email, etc.
i agree with above posters, you can actually take time to look around you, relax and enjoy.....oh, and i actually got to SHOP! woo hoo
go and enjoy

I've done solo trips before (both to WDW, and on DCL). I loved it. I was able to do whatever I wanted, eat wherever I wanted, and it was very freeing. I would do it again in a heartbeat (may even do it for DL)
