I asked this on the WDW general, but would also like some expertise from the Universal thread too. I will be traveling solo to Orlando in April 2004. I am a young, 25 yo women and would like some info about the park. I was mostly wanting to know if the park did anything for solo travellers, and also if there is anything that you can tell me to be aware of ~ are there any perks to traveling to the parks alone?
Thanks, J

Ok, for starters...a 25y/o women alone in Orlando...

I can tell you of two things to be aware of...

mkt and myself  jk

My opinions...the perks to traveling alone...
1. You get to do what you want, when you want.
2. It's a little easier to get PS's when you're single
3. Single Rider Lines
4. Photographing...you can take your time and get the right shots

Downfalls...
1. It may get a little lonely but don't be afraid to strike up a conversation with a stranger or CM
2. Onride Photos

I say...go enjoy yourself and have a great time!

(Oh, and I'm kidding about mkt and myself...we're not bad hehe)

Your so lucky to get to go solo!

The having time to take the right picture thing mentioned is a real advantage. I went with 6 friends and my husband last October and it was a nightmare. I had one friend who flew down with only some dress shoes and then complained about his feet the entire trip :hammer: My bipolar friend decided to get really drunk all week even though it is bad to mix alcohol with his meds :hammer: And everybody had their own idea of how the day was going to go that totally differed from mine and my husband's. :hammer: In retrospect I would now only go with my husband or alone b/c I love that place so much I don't see how I could get lonely. Mickey's always there somewhere :)

I've been to WDW twice by myself and will be going solo again later this month. The main advantage I have noticed is that I don't need to make priority seating reservations anywhere. I've been able to walk in everywhere with minimal waiting or none at all. Also, I suppose its easier to get a seat on the buses. And you can take advantage of the single rider lines. I haven't been offered any extra perks because I was alone though.

My birthday will be happening during this next visit so I'm going to try to use that to my advantage to get a great room at the Yacht Club. Who knows though.

The last time i went i was by myself. I totally agree with photo shots and being able to do whatever i wanted. i went from IOA, to USF, and back to IOA in the same day. had a nice rest in the early afternoon. I really enjoyed myself. It was lonely at times, but i was able to ride Hulk 9 times, Dragons 10 times, and Spider man 4 times. So I think the greatest benefit is doing whatever you want however many times you want to do it.
