SOJI Roll Call

Attention all Junior Imagineers:

I want to know what each of you are going to bring to the table and what you specifically would like to work on. I'll start.

I'm a high school senior and next year I'm going to college and majoring in Civil Enginneering with a minor in perhaps environmental or mechanical engineering. I've been using CAD for the past 4 years and I use a program called CADKey, which is probably the #2 (if not #1) used CAD program (commercial & industrial use... not personal use). I will probably be getting AutoCAD later this month.

As far as rides are concerned, I'm not that great at coming up with ideas. I hope to help with the visualization of some of our concepts. I tend to like designing more industrial aspects of the parks & rides.... like I said above, I'm not to good with story-lines.

Right now I've been doing a redesign of the Contemporary Tower. I've designed a facade which will be applied to the Contemporary to match its convention center, and perhaps make it one of the more favorite WDW resorts and help it fit in better (the 1970s contemporary/futuristic isn't helping it that much). My plan uses the 25th anniversary Cinderella Castle Cake concept, except on a more permanent scale (and not as ugly!). I am also working on an early EPCOT Center design. If you have the Imagineer's Book, check out pages 68-69 and the left model on page 72. I've been combining the two to make a different/early EPCOT design. So far the plan is looking good.

Well, I hope to help the SOJI visualize some of your ideas and share some of my own.

I'm also a senior in high school and plan on going to college next year. I want to major in illustration.

I'm not so great at coming up with my own ideas or stories. However I'm good with theming. You guys give me the idea and story lines and I'll put them down on paper for all to see. I can do concept work and story boards, so i hope you guys have tons of good ideas.

I'm in my freshman year of high school (blah!). I can come up with interesting concepts (i'm not that visual). I like to write, think, and do various kinds of abstract art (sorry, not for display). I love Disney (as you can see), and I would like to major in various art and writing and become a show designer at WDI. Thanks! I can't wait to be part of the team. Well I am William and I just graduated college 3 months ago, with a dual major in mathematics and architecture......I plan to do transportation and urban planning with some ride design...I already have a detailed elevation of my complete monorail overhaul design, and am doing the floorplans on AutoCad....I also want to contribute some 3-d computer drawings....I am waiting on some color pencils I ordered to give a good rendering of the new monorails I designed to post!!!!

i'm a freshman in college and majoring in lanscaping. but i plan to try to get to WDI for model building. i can come up with the ideas, but i'm good at the technical stuff like ride design's and planning, scene develpment, and i could help with the design of this. i'm good at putting something together in my head before you can actually see it.
are we still voting, did already at MSN just wondering if thats the final. And the chat what day will that be. I'm trying to plan my weekend with a major test in Enviromental Biology on monday.
just a side note. a few years ago i built a ride for cinderella, a water ride it was cool though i never finished it, we moved.

I have been away from my computer for a couple of weeks so I am very upset I missed out on this club your making, but of course I am still very interested. I am a junior in hgih scholl hoping to go into a architecture department of University of Southern Florida. As a member I can offer theming support as well as architectual and landscaping. I also can be creation of rides department, and I love to theme, theming is where I feel I can excel. Let me know how I can join.

hey FutureImagineer i'm with you. the in disney is so cool. we can plan some of themeing and detail stuff maybe. when we start we should have teams to split up the work. we can maybe decide it in the chat.

I like desiging anything. I am a sophmore in High School. I try to get on as the computer as much as I can but homework and sports sometimes limits my time. I also like Legos and have two theme-parks made out of them. One with 14 rides and one with 15 rides. One is the Lego Adventure Theme Park- themed areas- ABC Studios, Mission:Space area, and Mystic Theme (coming early 2002) and the Boardwalk area. The other is the Magic Kingdom- Fantasy area and Adventure area. Many Resturants and stores. I also have a downtwon area (movie theater, hotel, and a Mcdonald's.) So if you need any ideas I can see what I can up with.

Story lines, story lines, story lines!
Some of you may know me already, I don't go much on the rumors board to much and normally hung out just on the Imagineering board, and if you know me, you know I've made quite a few enemies with my heated theming and story line discussions, So if I start to yell at you about theming, don't worry, it's just me. I have a phobia about that as you will still learn.

As for the technical stuff, I'm still learning, and have found that I have a thirst for knowledge as far as 'How does that work?' goes, I tend to design rides that have no possible way of working, and try to figure out a way to MAKE it work, though, with my limited technical knowledge, I'm yet to actualy make one that does. I'm into system mixing, I'm most proud of my 3-d/ water ride concept, which is a little like Spider man, alot like Kali River Rapids, and centered around the Disney Villans (Which I will still argue to death that it should just be a land, not a whole park.)

In short, I'm a writer and a dreamer that is trying to jump start his technical brain. Oh, and I'm your friendly Moderator.
