Soft openings?

My mother and I will be there in 24 days!! Can anyone please explain what the term "soft opening" means? Does it mean that Fantasyland is open or only open for certain people at certain times? Can hardly wait as this is Mom and My first trip together!

The terms "soft open", "preview", "sneak preview" and "dress rehearsal" pretty much all mean the same thing when it comes to Disney parks... They mean that Disney will *try* to have whatever it is open during that time, but that they may close at any time due to unforseen circumstances. Sometimes something will close because of mechanical issues, other times they realize that something isn't working out with crowd flow or an effect and they'll shut things down to correct it,

In terms of the Fantasyland Expansion, Disney will have it open to the public on a regular, daily basis starting 11/19. Anything before that and it's an unannounced-could-close-at-any-time kind of thing.

It's currently unclear when Be Our Guest will open for business. (The only thing we *do* know is that the first day they made reservations for was 11/19)

Right now, its open to anyone who wants to go in. It can open or close at any time, but has been open almost, if not completely, all the time lately.

When they have the employee and AP things, my guess is it will be limited to them.

I hope you get to go in.

From what I am hearing October 19th is the last day for dress rehearsals and then it goes into previews mode where only those with the preview passes will be allowed into the area. After CM, Annual Pass, DVC, and D23 previews then it will open back up sometime in November for regular soft opening.
