socks ?

I am so excited!!! I've got the countdown going. 2weeks and 2 days!*!*!*!

Anyway, I read somewhere that we should buy coolmax socks or something like them. The cheapest I can find would cost over $100 for each of us (5 people) to have one pair for each day. I guess my question is how important are good socks? (packing like mad and counting down every second)

Cotton blend tube socks or crew socks, available for cheap at WalMart, K-Mart or Target do a great job of keeping the feet dry. Surprisingly, 100% cotton socks aren't so good. They tend to hold the moisture at the skin, and the wet skin blisters more easily.

Also, stop by the pharmacy and get a roll of moleskin. I've been using the same roll for over 3 trips now, so it can last a while. Be sure and take some scissors for trimming it. If you get a blister, or feel one coming on, a small piece of moleskin over the spot will keep it comfortable and protected.
