Soarn or Mission Space for 1st attraction at Epcot

I would head to Soarin first thing, get a FP for it and then get in the standby line. It is such a great ride and you will want to ride it at least twice. You can then go over the M:S and TT. For TT I would use the single rider line and don't be afraid of the wait time on that line because more times than not it is no more than a 20 min wait.

If you are going to be there for EMH's then I would suggest going on Soarin about 11:30p where the wait time is usually small maybe 20-30 mins.

Another vote for Soarin. When I was there (granted it was winter break), it seemed like everyone at the entire park was going to Soarin. If you don't want to ride it right away, I'd get a fastpass.

Soarin' for two reasons:

1. It is a way better ride/experience compared to Mission:Space.
2. Lines form quickly for the ride, in fact, for the last three times that I have gone, the fastpass tickets were all taken up after about an hour and a half of the park being open. I recommend running to the pavilion because that is where everyone is going to run.

Enjoy!

Your #1 is personal preference, and does little to answer the OP's question.

As far as your #2 goes, while Soarin' is popular and lines do form quickly... It is extremely rare that all fastpasses will have been distributed by 10:30am.

Soarin' on a normal day will "sell out" between 2:00 and 4:00pm, and on a very busy day will sell out by about 12:00 or 1:00pm.

Gone by 10:30am? Maybe on NYE...

NO! actually, that is wrong, Imagineersrock. The fastpasses for Soarin' are almost always gone by 10:30 to 11:00 on any busy day. Off-peak, it is the only attraction at WDW that STILL runs out of fastpasses by the late afternoon. The advice people are giving is absolutely correct. On any day that the park is listed as an "8" in attendance or higher in the "Unofficial Guide" or at "touringplans", the fastpasses WILL be gone within an hour and a half to two hours after Epcot opens in the morning. They are gone quicker on EMH Epcot mornings, a bit later on regular days. That covers pretty much 9 of the 12 months of the year.

As with the overwhelming majority I would definately do Soarin' first! When we went over Spring Break we didn't get over to Soarin' til after 12 and all the fastpasses were gone along with a 90min wait. We got lucky because Epcot have EMH that night and we went first thing. Only had to wait about 20 mins

El Rio de Tiempo!

Just kidding!

Test Track would be my first stop, then MS, then soarin'.

I would do el rio de tiempo and maelstrom at night. Something about doing a dark ride in the dark ACTUALLY in the dark.

Believe what you want... In this case it is the word of an unofficial Disney Guide book against that of the Cast Member who has been the one to put the "All Soarin' fastpasses have been distributed for today" sign out infront of The Land pavillion more times than I can remember. (That would be me.)

I stand by my original post. Soarin' fastpasses are gone by mid to late afternoon on an average day, and gone by early afternoon or late morning on a busy day.

Last Wednesday is a perfect example: I got a Soarin' fastpass with a return time of 2:30pm-3:30pm just after 12:00 noon.

I'd get test track done, or fastpassed just as soon as you get in, and walk on Mission Space. I'd fastpass Soarin' and do Ellens Energy, and go on Journey to the Imagination. Just as I would enter Soarin' see how The Land is doing. Is FP Avail for The Land? get it!

I think you are right there...Soarin' is still popular. My daughter went there last weekend when the wait time was 70 minutes butthe real wait was a hour and a half. And with everyone scared of Mission Space..shouldn't be a problem riding
