Soarin' Screen Any Better?

Hi All. Back in Late June we were at WDW, and went on Soarin' for the first time. Impressive and fun, but I could not help but to be distracted by something on the screen (or shall I say "in the bowl") on the left side. Almost destroyed the illusion for me... rest of the party seemed to be able to ignore it...

Now we are going back at the end of this week, and I was curious if it was fixed. At least one of us going has never been, and I have my fingers crossed that the screen is pristeen.

Anyone ride soaring recently... and can comment on the screen... Stuff on it? Just curious. Thanks.

The only thing out of the ordinary that grabbed my attention when I rode yesterday was the shadow of a few bugs that were probably sitting on the projector. Other than that I didn't notice anything else out of the three times I rode it (the bugs were on it the first time, first flight for that show building of the day).

Thanks.... yes some large blob was on the left of the screen, could be seen as you walked in to load (and If I remember right, projector was off as well as on.).

Thanks... I'm look forward riding it again.

Hi, welcome to the boards.

Now, let's discuss your posting style:

1. Please take CAPS lock off. If you'll notice every first letter of each word is in caps . The site does that automatically when you have CAPS lock on.

2. Please punctuate your post. It will make it much easier for all to read.

Thanks.

Thanks Discman91 and Dolbyman... I'm glad I was not seeing things. I figured since it has just officially opened, there was a problem getting their act together and getting into the screen area to clean it.

I wonder how they clean that.... since Its a vertical bowl? Actually I don't care, as long as they keep the "Show" looking its best.

I understand the bug on the projector problem, and would think that will be a continual battle.

I guess they could install a fan underneath the projection glass to blow all incomming bugs away .. and the air would affect the projection

What they need is some air vent right next to the projector, to blow the bugs and dust off of it. I saw an IMAX movie yesterday (Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag if you must know) and they had the same problem. You could see the occassional bug or dust.

I wish they could do something about the feet. You would think that after it being opened in DCA for awhile they would be able to fix that, just like they were able to fix buzz over at DL making it better than the one in WDW.

I don't think they can do anything about the feet that wouldn't involve some major redesign. They'd need to lengthen the distance between the gliders which would force them to make the building and screen even taller, which is not "do-able."

I'm not sure its the projector...

I recall DCA having the same blip on the screen as well. I found it odd that Soarin' had the same type of blog and same location.

Who's to say its not on the transfer?
