My g/f heard the queue music as we were waiting to get on the ride and thought that the music sounded very familiar. That is because it is... if you've seen the 80s movies:

"The Last Starfighter" and "Explorers" (River Phoenix's first movie)

Well, thats in addition to the theme from Battlestar Galactica and "Awful Waste of Space" from Contact.

Anyoen noticing a sorta "space" theme to the music?

Maybe it's "Mission: SPACE" for beginners? :)

All the entrance music is movie related. You will hear strains of Bill Conti's "The Right Stuff" and
Jerry Goldsmith's soaring themes from "The Blue Max" as well as "Patton" and "MacArthur", unless the music has changed from DCA's Soarin queue but I dont think it has.

Horizons, that's from the california queue - WDW's is different and doesnt have those song.

Oops, my bad. I had thought that since it was a cloned attraction it was the same music. Oh well, thanks for correcting me on that.

The Jet Lee music (cant recall the name) I think is repeated, but all the others have seemingly changed. I'm not even positive on the Jet Lee one.

We've slowly been figuring it out as people recognize songs. I instantly recognized Awful Waste of Space because I like Contact (and in particular, that song) and several people noticed Battlestar Galactica.

Overall - WDW's queue is more exploration and space themed (possibly "futuristic?") while California stays true to their location's theme of being sort of military with a lot of american pride and sense of purpose.

A small note:

I feel WDW's loop is more about granduer (like of nature), beauty, wonder while california has an essence of pride and majesty (like of royalty)

I noticed that they were also playing some of the music from "Band of Brothers". It may have changed though, I only rode it during the previews. Still, "Band of Brothers" doesn't seem too family friendly. I have to admit, the "Band of Brothers" theme is very sweeping.

I've heard Apollo 13 lately, which is ironic because 20 minutes away at Universal Studios they play that for their fireworks show. It's still a great song.
