Soarin Expansion

If I have my FP+ before I even arrive for my stay at WDW, who cares? Also, I don't go at an extremely busy time anyway, so the WS wouldn't be too crowded.
Because... if no one is getting FP's for Soarin, they will be getting them for TT. That will mean longer FP lines and higher demand, so the problem would be even getting a FP for it. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Those people will want to be going someplace and if they are like yourself they would normally be standing in that line for Soarin, (you for TT) but Soarin will be closed so they will just head straight to WS.

Nevermind. Trying to explain to you the way I do things and know what I know is a lost cause. Carry on.

Yeah I guess, I just think that them shutting down soarin that for some people is the only reason they visit the park, would be a bad decision for their business, but thats just me.

Disney s down rides all the time for refurbs. i'm sure they will test the new theater first so they will run all of them at once and then do a refurb on the entire ride (they will have to reconfigure the qeue area). That is my hypothesis.

I'm aware of that, and I'm trying to tell you why it is possible that having Soarin closed could affect you even though you don't have any desire to see Soarin. But I know it is a lost cause. Carry on.

Yes, they will build the new theater, swing the traffic (people) over to it, and refurbish the old theater. Having a headliner like Soarin down for a long period of time would cause quite an uproar, they can't allow that to happen as it hurts the bottom line. If they did not do it this way I would be very surprised.

I am aware of that. I haven't gone to WDW for 20+ times to not know this. You just need to find a reason to argue. Let it go.

i got to see the framework for the soarin expansion backstage while I was with NYFA film camp! So just in case anyone is doubting this for some reason, I can guarantee its being built. But wasn't allowed to take photography backstage.

Also it was weird seeing behind Canada.. The trees are inside like dumpsters and trash cans. Also the water wasn't running when we were leaving it was strange!

We also had VIP seating and dessert for illuminations. Ok ok I'll stop bragging.

Did you ever think they might close the first theaters down when they get closer to the other theaters being finished to put in the new projectors...So that way all of them have the new projectors all at once..

This is exactly what I was thinking. It is evitable that even popular rides have to go down for refurbishment from time to time. At DL they had Big Thunder down for almost a whole year, and that is quite a popular ride. I love Soarin' but if it was down for refurb while I was there I would be bummer but it wouldn't make or break my vacation there is plenty of other things to do and logically I know that things have to go down because equipment breaks or gets worn, or idiots (guests) need to scribble, tear at things or stick their gum places instead of respecting property.

No one is doubting the expansion. What people are discussing how the attraction will transition to the new system, since the new theater will be digital, while the original ones are not.

Heck, if you don't tell anyone, I won't. People riding will only know what they are seeing, not what someone else is seeing. So, keep it quiet and all will run smoothly. They will, in all probability, finish the expansion, open it and at the same time close one theater having zero affect on current wait times. When that theater is done, they will close the last one and redo that one, same affect. And before anyone realizes, all three will be done and we all can live happily ever after. I don't think that the film change is going to happen for awhile yet and when it does they will probably close it all down for a brief period of time and do them all at once. Anything else would just be a mess.
