Ladies and gentlemen... I've read some pretty negative things about the Soarin attraction at WDW and how "outdated" it is etc. I must say that I am shocked. Few know the amount of work that was put into this experience.

Seeing as how there are so many good people that frequent these boards, I'm going to go ahead and let you all in on a little secret. It's true that I assisted with the early development of this ride and I'm going to now show you the beta version that I personally invested so much time into so many years ago. Of course the current product is what they eventually decided to go with over my ideas but it was MY choppy "transition" technique from scene to scene which they obviously maintain still today.

So without further adieu... Enjoy.

This was beautiful, and am sure it will be even more spectacular with the full-screen experience. I like how the sudden drops & crash scenes add more of a thrill factor to this attraction, and I can imagine the g-forces of the ride will be phenomenal.

The downtown Atlanta scene was truly a sight to behold. I loved how the colors of car brake lights glistened through the darkness...making it feel as if you're actually stuck in a post-Falcons game traffic gridlock. I'm sure the honking of other angry drivers will sound even more realistic once WDI tweaks it for the final surround-sound effect.

The cows & other livestock running across open pastures was another nice touch. The smell effects during this scene should be compelling.

I am beyond excited for this, and cannot wait for the final project. Thanks for sharing!

Simply stated...genius. Pure and simple genius.
I set the video to full screen on my computer, hung myself from a rope off the ceiling, and whiled away the hours replaying the video. It felt as though I was going to land on the roof of that car. Next up, a 3D experience involving my next door neighbor dressed as Rick Moranis as he throws his pet snake in my face. Genius I say.

Beta test? Quit being so modest! That was Six Flags quality right there.

I enjoyed the Minecraft link that comes up at the end of the video as well. Minecraft Epcot.
