I'm upset because I feel like people didn't even try to get a handle on the prompt. They didn't like one half of one of the options and so they just completely gave up. That to me is frustrating. I'm not expecting every person to do every prompt but having only two people submit is a bit of an extreme example of "you can skip a round and make finals". Superbowl and the flu are much more understandable, it just frustrates me that people gave up because of the prompt itself.

I still want to give it a day to give people more of a chance to get stuff turned in since you're right that I wasn't thinking about the Superbowl when I gave out the due date and I'm sure that's part of the problem. As I said, I just simply think if we move on to the next project all the goodwill for this season is already gone and I strongly have my doubts that anyone besides Space, Pi, and Ace will submit anything and if that's the case I'd rather end things now than drag things out with this level of activity which would be harmful to everyone's morale.
