The first thing you might notice is that I angled the entrance at 45 degrees rather than starting due north. My thought process was if I angle it, perhaps while trying to stick to the Magic Kingdom 'land' setup - I won't be as focused on keeping things so similar to the Magic Kingdom layout.

The initial idea I had was that our goal (or at least one of them) in this project is to make this resort feel more like a....resort. And the best way to do that is to incorporate resort hotels, and transportation to and from the resorts, to the parks. Which led to the idea of having two entrances (really 3 including the Nintendo park to park transportation)

The 'main' entrance will be for guests coming in for the day via the main parking deck. Guests will walk from the parking deck, through City Walk - and towards the entrance to either Uni Sea or UniMK.

The 'hotel' entrance is exclusively for resort guests. Guests at any one of UniMK area resorts can travel by boat right to the center of the action. The shaded regions on the map with arrows are waterways, so guests can sail under bridges and into the action - exclusively for the resort guests, similar to how Boardwalk guests can take a boat to Hollywood Studios in WDW - yet this is even better because you have your own entrance (similar to the International Gateway for Epcot)

Beginning with the 'main' entrance, guests will enter through a renaissance Parisian town setting, and off the main street with pastry shops, restaurants, shops... is a decrepit, morose alley where a Les Mis stage production will take place.

Going counterclockwise around the park, this French area will transition into a London street and a rendition of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Rather than going to Diagon Alley in this land though, we will be transported to the Ministry of Magic for an E-ticket thrill ride, among other London attractions, such as a walk-through of the Order of the Phoenix house perhaps?

In addition, the land will house a 2nd E-ticket -- one far out and away, over a sea, where Azkaban prison lies.

Leaving London, we transition into a more fanciful village setting, where 'Illumination Station' is. Here, facades from the film present a colorful array of different animated films of the past decade, such as Hop (@brb1006 's suggestion), Sing, Secret Life of Pets, Despicable Me, Minions, and room for expansion space for the land. This will be a sure-fire kid-friendly experience, which will transition into another kid-friendly land (and for kids at heart)

Nintendo World.
news-0608-nintendo.jpg

With Star Fox, Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, and anything Nintendo fans dream of. There will also be some sort of transportation to Universal's 2nd theme park (UniSEA) and the Zelda land over there.

Nintendo will be one of the largest lands in the park - and that combined with the Illumination Station will have plenty to do in the park for kids of all ages.

Transitioning into a more teenage thrill area - we enter the actual theme park from Jurassic World!
jw_set_ext_mainpark_heli_n_cs_v04_5k_layered_signs.jpg

Basically the image above. It will be complete with restaurants, shops, and even a monorail entrance from another area of the park (explained later) - it will be complete with a 3D show, dark ride, and thrill ride, among many more experiences.

Crossing another bridge and transitioning from a Central American mountain range in Isla Nublar - into a more mysterious Americano town, we enter Derry, ME and travel 'west' through America through some of the more mysterious Universal films. 'Float' down a sewer to escape IT, walk through the Bates Motel or Pet Semetary, or venture to be a caretaker at the Overlook Hotel on The Shining dark ride.

The mystery/horror landscape will be located in the back corner of the park - and for those who don't like scary things, they can skip it. It was designed this way so that all of the kid friendly activities are on the right hand side, completely away from anything Stephen King or horror.

Transitioning over the waterway to the resort hotels, we enter the final land so far - the 'action' landscape.

Here we enter the gritty streets of an Asian city (Hong Kong possibly) and immerse ourselves in an environment conducive to action. We have a Bourne attraction, a Stunt show (theme tbd) and a Fast and the Furious SCOOP attraction, all taking place within the Hong Kong aesthetic. This city landscape then transitions back slowly either into the Parisan village, or to the resort hotel entrance and main hub of the park, where you can see all the respective landscapes to explore from the central location.

Thoughts on this?
Greetings from the Tokyo Haneda Airport!

This layout looks very strong, much more streamlined. Grouping all the family attractions away from the teen stuff is a great move. My only comment which doesn't concern UniSea is...Did we drop the sci-fi land? It might easily fit next to the action area, and certainly is a genre Uni would need represented.

Now, for the elements where UniMK overlaps with UniSea:
Shared Victorian areas
Shared Potter
Shared Nintendo
Transportation
Hotels

Shared Victorian areas: UniSea tentatively has a Victorian London entry land. Actually, the nearby H.G. Wells sci-fi land (a largely original adaptation by Universal Creative, not based on any existing movies) itself will likely be set in Victorian London. This has made me consider changing UniSea's entry land slightly, to 19th century Paris (which still transitions well to the nearby areas). This was before you suggested a similar land for UniMK's entry. Would the vintage 1930s Hollywood/studio entry land still work for UniMK instead? Or something else entirely, like the Rockefeller Plaza idea?

As for UniMK's Potter London being redundant with UniSea London, that's one reason I might favor the American-set Fantastic Beasts instead. The executives would likely prefer that newer property anyway.

Shared Potter: I'm okay with both park's sharing Potter and Nintendo. Mario and Zelda don't relate in the same way as, e.g., Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. Since UniSea probably won't open until 10 years after UniMK, that's a long time for the resort to go without any Potter. I support an all-new Potter land for UniMK, as a new draw for guests worldwide. If we do Fantastic Beasts (UniMK is generally more American, and UniSea more European), does it make any sense at all to join it to Hogsmeade with Hogwarts Express?! Or by some other magical means? Hogwarts Express is a big kinetic part of UniSea, passing visibly through Transylvania and the entry Victorian land as well as Hogsmeade, so if it doesn't end up connecting to UniMK, I'll keep it as simple in-park transportation instead.

Shared Nintendo: So how do we transport guests from UniMK's Mario area to UniSea's Zelda area? Perhaps taking a warp pipe from a Warp Zone to the Spirit Temple or something? Input is welcome!

Incidentally, I favor only one park-to-park transportation attraction. Right now connecting the two Nintendo lands makes the most sense, to group all the family lands together. UniMK's Nintendo World is next to Illumination Station, and UniSea's Hyrule is next to Whoville. These are the parks' most family-friendly lands, so good to connect them!

Transportation: These resort boats carrying hotel guests to a unique entrance is the coolest idea of all so far! There's a lot of potential for storytelling and spectacle with this!

UniSea was already meant to have plentiful in-park boat transportation, what with Jaws, Kong, Victorian docks, and the Great Lake at the foot of Hogwarts. Let's have the same hotel boats enter UniSea!

Recall in Potter, the first years taking lantern-lit boats over Great Lake for their first view of Hogwarts? Wouldn't that be incredible for Potter hotel guests! (Other hotel guests could take boats to the Victorian docks.). Which leads me to...

Hotels: First up, how about a boutique role-playing hotel where guests stay in the Hogwarts dorms? Have them wear wizarding robes. Take them by boat straight into the park's Hogsmeade land. Have the sorting hat at reception. Include in-park activities so Gryffindor can compete against Slytherin for points. Think of it as the Potter equivalent of that immersive Star Wars hotel that Disney's planning for DHS. I would even consider putting it in the park, but that might require totally redesigning the scaled-down Hogwarts Castle of WWOHP into something full-scale. Maybe easier to do this hotel remotely just outside of the park?

The other UniSea hotel idea is to do an equivalent of DisneySea's Hotel Miracosta, which sits inside of the theme park, with views of the entry land and spectaculars. Miracosta allowed Imagineering to do bigger city-scale facades with a purpose, which gives Mediterranean Harbor a life and grandeur no Main Street USA can match. Either Victorian London or Paris cities would work for such a hotel! Thoughts?

So far, no specific ideas for UniMK hotels. Overlook Hotel maybe? Something more Hollywood glitzy for the City Walk area maybe, depending on how much Hollywood theming we want.

Lastly, a quick question. Would MK's Jurassic World include a clone of Jurassic Park River Adventure? If not, I'm considering reskinning that ride for UniSea as Skull Island River Adventure.

First off have a safe flight! :)

For the shared worlds - I'm in favor of Fantastic Beasts and a New York area rather than Ministry of Magic if everyone is okay with that! I think just for unique sake, having the Hogwarts Express going just through UniSEA and not connecting to New York or anything would be a good solution!

And for your Hogwarts boutique resort concept - I have some blueprints and thoughts for you already! :D And love the boat dock at the front - I envisioned the same thing!

20170622_043517.jpg

For the top left map of Hogwarts and the Hogwarts Grounds
1 - Lobby (Floor 1)
2 - Great Hall (Floor 4)
3 - Moving Staircases (Floors 1-4)
4 - Gryffindor (Floors 4-14)
5 - Slytherin (Floors 4-14)
6 - Chamber of Secrets (basement)
7 - Dumbledore's Office (4th floor)
8 - Hufflepuff (Floors 4-11)
9 - Ravenclaw (Floors 4-11)
10 - Room of Requirement (Floors 2-4)
11 - Greenhouse (Floor 4)
12 - Potions (Floor 4)
13 - Transfiguation (Floor 4)
14 - Hagrid's Hut (Hogwarts Grounds)
15 - Quidditch Pitch
16 - Dark Forest

Dining
-The Great Hall is a large scale Breakfast and Dinner Buffet - but similar to Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Resort - it is a buffet, but hosts and hostesses bring you the food, rather than having everyone get up and ruining the illusion of the Great Hall.
- There's also a food court in the main quad near the Hufflepuff/Ravenclaw Common Rooms.
- A small tea room is located near Professor Sprout's Greenhouse.
- Each common room has room-service options as well.
- In addition, while technically in-park food - Hagrid's Hut is a quick service venue and the Quidditch Pitch has a marketplace as well categorized as quick service.

Amenities
- The Room of Requirement is a recreational facility with a sprawling workout facility, spa, and health club, and the resort's main pool. The 5th Floor Prefects Bathroom is a indoor quiet pool. Similar to Disney's Grand Floridian in the main lobby - there are a variety of shops (Harry Potter themed) around the main lobby concourse, for instance
- The Greenhouse - plants and flowers from Professor Sprout
- Potions - perfumes, and other concoctions from Professor Snape
- Transfiguation - antique spot
- Charms - jewelry and other delicacies.

*A note that if you purchase a 'wand' or have a wand from another Harry Potter venue in Universal Japan, Orlando, or Hollywood - the wand will interact with all of these environments in Hogwarts. If you walk into the Potions class, you'll be able to go up to certain locations and mix potions, perform spells, and much more.

Special Locations
- The Chamber of Secrets - particularly open during Halloween Horror Nights, the Chamber of Secrets comes alive with a large basilik animatronic that you have to use the sword of Gryffindor to defend against.
- Dumbledore's Office - here you can interact with the Pensive, which is a vacation photo pick-up spot (looking into the past) and Fawks (an animatronic in the resort) that will mysteriously turn to ashes and then rise from the ashes at certain points during the day.
- The 3rd Floor - be warned there may be a 3 headed dog
- The Library - a full-fledged library which doubles as a conference center.

Holiday Overlays
- Halloween and Christmas decorations abound. Can tie in with Halloween Horror Nights including Dementors, Trolls, tons of stuff.

----------------

Lastly with Jurassic World - I'm thinking completely new experiences and not the River Adventure, so adopting it for UniSEA and Kong would be perfect!

I would love to visit this place. But a few questions on both Hogwarts and JW.
  1. What would you use for the troll and the dementors (are they going to be puppets or Animatronics)?
  2. How would the potion making lessons work?
  3. What would guests be able to see at the Quidditch Pitch and Forbidden Forest ?
  4. If we're not making a reason of Jurassic Park River Adventure for Jurassic World, then will it be a roller coaster or rapids ride like the Singaporean version ?

That sounds fun! Do you think you could do a short write up for it? :)
Alright here it goes,

I'm picturing The Pink Berets attraction be set in a new building that is based on a mixture between a rabbit burrow and a police station. The indoor queue features photos taken by The Pink Berets of various crime photos as evidence to a private spy program. This queue also features a three separate screens for each of the Pink Berets while a big screen in the middle features a male detective agent that tells what the next mission for them will be and also invites the audience to help them with their next mystery or crime case.

The ride vehicles are trackless and has a LPS system. While I haven't though that much out on how the scenes for each of the locations will be. I can picture The Pink Berets theme to be played throughout the attraction and also marking the first time female rabbit team will be able to be talking besides making grunts and noises like they did in HOP. The AA's will also be more expressive in the ride.

There is also an indoor meet and greet location where you can meet them after you get off the attraction next to the gift shop and might even be found wandering around the indoor area and outside depending on the weather. Especially after knowing the trio haven't been seen at Universal Orlando since the HOP section gotten replaced. It would be a great opportunity for this to exist since there's not that many characters at Universal that kids can enjoy besides Curious George,Spongbob or Woody Woodypecker.

(While I suck at concept art since I'm not the best at drawing. Hopefully somebody in this thread can come up with a good idea and sketches for how the ride and areas might look like as mentioned. I don't care if you like HOP or not but The Pink Berets are the best part of the film and the best characters. I seriously wish Ilumination would someday just make a fully animated film that only stars the trio and having a different setting nor does it have any holiday setting.)

I'll answer these as best I can one by one

1 - Dementors I think could be used via projections -- they're ghostly figures or via motion based arms such as in Forbidden Journey. For trolls I didn't think as far ahead - but given the boutique resort - with presumably higher prices, I would say possibly an AA.
2 - Like Chemistry class -- with protective gear and a safety lesson (similar to the Richard Petty Driving Experience safety class you have to take before driving the car)
3 - Depends on D Hindley's thoughts for the land! A Quidditch coaster would be cool and/or a Whomping Willow spinner, Forbidden Forest walk-through.
4 - I was thinking the main attraction could be a gyrosphere trackless ride, mixed with a roller coaster element once the I-Rex finds you.

Forgot to ask two more questions.
5. Will there also be Transfiguration class?
6. Would the moving staircases be there for show or actual usage (even though it would probably be unlikely)?

There could be a transfiguration class - could use similar tech to the Enchanted Tales with Belle mirror trick. For moving staircases, I don't think it's possible for them to actually move while we are on them, but other staircases, that aren't used, could possibly move...maybe one just for effect (or projection screens above on the ceiling)

Lands include
- Paris
- New York
- Hong Kong
- Illumination Station
- Nintendo World
- Jurassic World
- American Mystery

Tons of locations left open and now that I have it on a paint doc, it'll be much easier to edit and make adjustments for ride ideas/restaurants/shops --- have some of the major attraction titles listed, but for several of them, it's still up to us what type of ride they will be. Thoughts and feedback welcome!
