So You Can't Stand The Small World Song, Eh?

Ahh, It's a Small World. The ride evokes such love, and hate. LOL! The song, that wonderful ditty that burrows into your brain and takes over. Personally, I love the ride and have no problem with the song. I love the message and the song is the thread that connects all the nationalities of children. But I was recently reminded of another song. One that, IMHO, is just as musically hooking and probably FAR more annoying (if you're annoyed at the SM song, that is). If you're a fan of The Umbrella Academy (streaming on Netflix) you know what I'm talking about.

I usually leave humming about how small the world is, but that is the blessing of AADD. As soon as I hear the next on, that one leaves my brain at warp speed and is replaced by the new one. We'll just call it the blessing of ADD.

I'm disappointed that nobody seems to have put together a 10+ hour loop for this.

But here's 50 minutes of "It's a Small World." Not well edited, and the ending leaves you miserably unsatisfied.

When I first took my family my wife insisted we go on SW. I had been on it in 1964 and again in 1979 (guess I didn;t learn the first time). I told her that song would get annoying and stuck in her head the rest of the day, We rode it. But never again.

I love the song. It is the first attraction I ever did at a Disney park back in 1991. It stuck with me since. Sentimentally that song evokes some great memories. It is a Sherman Bros. masterpiece.

If you want to have some fun with the song, just sing it as “It’s a Smell World” like we did one year after we sat behind a guy that probably hadn’t had even a sponge bath in the previous 3 weeks…!!!!! :depressed::hilarious:
Had the same experience went on ISW and the guy 2 rows in front of us must not have bathed or heard of deodorant smelled to high heaven. My 2 small boys at the time kept saying dad that man smells bad --I tried to keep them quiet --It's Smell world--I like it

Stinking that bad in public, especially if you know what smell is, is almost a category of assault. I'd be ok with making it illegal. I mean, you can't throw a cup of urine on somebody anymore and not get an assault charge.... so why should you be able to throw aerosolized\vaporised forms of feces and urine at folks?

My complaint only covers known disease-related/hygine odors. Not perfumes, allthough yes, you can overdo those too.
