So, who wants to do this on Rock n' Rollercoaster?

Now that it's been done and pictured, what's the point? Try drinking a cup of steaming hot coffee will plunging down SPLASH MOUNTAIN! Now that's a trick worth having a picture of.

Lee, I would so try that. (But it's Gerstlauer, so I might break something. :lookaroun)

My friends and I have taken a map on a few rides for the photo op, though we'd all agreed we'd do it on tamer rides. No one wants a park map to come loose on Top Thrill Dragster.

I still think Theme Park Review gets the award for Best On-Ride Photo:

daaaahahahahahahaha! I'd SO be willing to do that map thing on a rollercoaster photo-op. Especially the Disney Ones, where i know each place by heart.

I like to look the wrong direction on Dinosaur and act like I am scared to death and screaming my lungs out.

I know people have bought there photos only to get home and go: "Whats that guy lookin at?"

Im gonna try for a similar feat, except that the game will be the little peg one you can play at Cracker Barrel and the ride will be TTA:ROFLOL:

These people are not doing anything that dangerous on these coasters; they obviously did it carefully. Maybe Disney should make all their guests strip down before going on a coaster...just in case something flys off and smacks someone behind them.

This one was my idea...

I should try that on Kingda Ka at Six Flags, I can't imagine playing chess on a ride that intense, maybe on something like BTMRR.

Kinga Ka is probably the most intense ride, going so fast & being the tallest ride out there. I just want to see the faces of people going on that, playing chess or not. Have you been on it? I go to 6 flags a lot but never had the guts for kinga ka (plus its always closed when i go)

That really is an awesome picture. I like the guy reading the map & the other guy on the cell phone. The most I do on tower of terror is hold on to the cage (if im near it) with both hands and scream.

I've seen lots of pictures (and DH and I have done this too for rides) posing for the cameras, reading a book, filing my nails, etc. Just to make the picture more interesting.

HAHA I love it because that's me. For some strange reason I just don't do well with Buzz Lightyear and my boyfriend is completely into it. So i either make a funny face or put on lipgloss or something, just to make it more interesting.

It is in the new YOAMD pamphlet, that if you are able to beat the game and get down to one peg before the "Paging Tom Morrow" recording is played on the TTA, then you automatically win a stay in the castle. :brick:

Wouldn't doing this be kind of dangerous? I mean what if the board flew out of your hands and hit someone?

I don't really find anything fun, interesting or cool about putting other guests in danger. There could be kids behind you who could get hit in the face by the chess board or pieces.

It's just stupid.

Yeah, ok. Tell me to lighten up after your children get hurt by idiots.

The way i see it is - the chess board is traveling at the exact same speed as the log and you. It's not really gonna go very far if you let go of it.

The pieces were glued down so there not going to stray either.

Your argument could also apply to glasses, contacts, dentures, partials, hairpieces, hearing aides, artificial limbs, etc.

This would be fun, though, but a little bit dangerous if one of the pieces falls off, any object at a high speed is not good. Good luck with those who try it! :)

This post is about trying something stupid and unnecessary in a theme park full of children. RNR goes to 55+ mph in about 2.8 seconds. If you have kids would you volunteer them for the "hit in the face with a chessboard with glued on pieces test" at 55+ mph. As for it traveling at the same speed and won't go very far, sit in the front and look back.

As for glasses, contacts, dentures, partials, hairpieces, hearing aides, artificial limbs etc...unless you are just carrying around a handful of glasses, contacts, dentures, etc...these are normal everyday objects, and yes they do come off. But they were there for a better reason then to get a stupid picture on a ride. There is quite a difference in having something accidentally come off and having something that has no business on the ride in the first place. I don't see how it even compares.

I am not trying to make an argument. Just remember if some of you who think this is a good idea tries it and causes any kind of injury to my children, as soon as the ride is over your day will no longer be magical and the happiest place on earth won't be happy any more. Not a threat, just something to think about.

At Busch Gardens you'll notice nets around all of the viewing areas of Montu and signs throughout the queue saying that prosthetic limbs are not allowed on the ride. That's because a few years ago a rider's leg popped off and hit an onlooker...:brick:
