55 Days till disney and I'm already salivating thinking about where to eat first. For me its definately check in, then head over to EPCOT and hit San Angel Inn in Mexico or, Le Cellier in Canada. They have a prime rib thats worth fighting over! So whats your favorite restaurant, where is it, do you recommend reservations, lunch or dinner, what to eat and why?(whew!)

yumm!

Well, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the Chef's Table at Victoria & Alberts. Food was phenomenal and the presentation was out of this world.

For mere mortals, though - we both heartily endorse the Rose and Crown in Epcot's United Kingdom. Portions HUGE and tasty and if you eat out on the terrace overlooking the lake it adds even more benefit. I had the fish and chips and it could have fed a family of four!

San Angel was okay - the atmosphere was great but to me, the food iffy. And DH and I eat Mexican A LOT - it us one of our favorite types of cuisine. We just couldn't get into the entrees on the limited menu.

In downtown Disney we thought Gloria Estefan's Cuban restaurant was very different and very filling. It certainly opened our eyes to Cuban cuisine. The waiter was young, male, Cuban and GORGEOUS! so even tho I was on my honeymoon WOW! he was very polite and charming in that sexy Latino way.... I thought, boy, when he gets out of college - what a hearththrob. Our service was impeccable.

Sorry I digress from food LOL! Can you tell he was a hottie??

However, we were sadly disappointed with Wolfgang Pucks - even for Disney the prices were high and portions minimal (and selection limited).

We also had a bad experience at Fulton's (the manager ended up taking the charge for my boiled lobster dinner off of our check, because the meat inside the lobster was mushy and spoiled.) Blechh.

We are looking forward to eating again at Emeril's (PHENOMENAL) in River Walk/Orlando when we go back mid-December. Probably the best meal we have EVER eaten.

enjoy!

Thank you for the info! :slurp:

The best meal I ever had at Disney was at Chefs de France. It was unplanned. We ducked in to get out of a downpour and spent an incredibly romantic 3 hours eating great food and drinking wine and champagne.
The service was wonderful, the waitress friendly. We waited 2 min for a table without PS (but that was the week after 9/11).

Narcoossee's (sp?) was below expectation. I had the ahi tuna (a personal favorite) which was not the best I've had. The steak was cut a little too thick. I ordered med rare and it was basically rare. The sauce was good but quite exotic. I would not recommend Narcoossee's unless you like exotic. My wife and I both agreed that the food was sub-par -- not bad, just not stupendous. Again, that was the week after 9/11 so that may have had some effect on quality. There were only two other couples in the restaurant for dinner at 730pm.

The Mexican restaurant (in the dark below the volcano) had excellent food and atmosphere, and was one of the best values we've found at DW.

The Coral Reef was great. All five of us loved our meals, and the desserts were great, too. The atmosphere is a little dark for my taste, and somewhat "cold." But it's neat to see the fish.

Crystal Palace is the place for breakfast, but it's closed for refurbishing.

I'm looking forward to trying Artist's Point and some of the restaurants on the Boardwalk.

Akira, and this goes for westie as well,

you should try out the Flying Fish on the boardwalk. One of the best meals I've ever had period - not just @ wdw, and the best service I've had @ wdw. Excellent wine list, it's on the boardwalk just past spoodles (if you're coming from EPCOT).

Thanks, I was looking at both of them, and this is no joke, I flipped a coin and Narcoossee's won.

Next time down we'll do the Fish.

My wife an I split up what places we want to eat, we have two we always do the first and last days on a WDW trip as tradition (Liberty Tree Tavern and Chefs de France). One we both agreed upon, Rose and Crown, and the last 4 we each get to choose 2. I picked Ohanna's and Narcoossee's, she picked Artist Point and Cinderallas Castle.

So our dinners are full this year, but the Fish is on the list for the next time down! :slurp:

That's the plan for Rose and Crown. We even built in a little extra time if we had to wait a bit to get the "right" table. :animwink:

We never did the Castle, so we're looking forward to that one.

We have done in the past years most of the other Epcot places except Marocan and Sushi foods. Not much into them.

Does Flying fish do lunches? Maybe we can do that for lunch one day. :slurp:

no go for lunch...

unfortunately no,

the 'fish doesn't do lunch - I think they begin seating @ 5:00. I'm hoping to try the Illuminations @ rose & crown as well when I go in about a month (provided I find a travelling buddy - otherwise I may have to wait :( )

Does San Angel have Mole Poblano back on the menu? It is incredible! When we went in 2000 it was no longer on the menu and I was really disappointed. I hope it's available again in November:slurp:

In 2000 we asked them for the recipe and they actually did send it to us in the mail later believe it or not. Still have it somewhere.
