So, Where to Eat?

55 Days till disney and I'm already salivating thinking about where to eat first. For me its definately check in, then head over to EPCOT and hit San Angel Inn in Mexico or, Le Cellier in Canada. They have a prime rib thats worth fighting over! So whats your favorite restaurant, where is it, do you recommend reservations, lunch or dinner, what to eat and why?(whew!)

Meega, nala kwishta!
I'd recommend Chefs de France @ Epcot and Artists Point @ WL. Both are excelent places to eat. I would recommend PS for both, but mostly for Chefs.

Both are a bit pricey, but not too bad.

We are tring a new one for us, Narcoossee's @ GF this year. I just have never eaten a great seafood dinner at WDW yet. Fulton's is ok and the Corel Reef was one of the worst meals I've ever eaten at WDW. So we're hoping Narcoossee's will live up to the reviews I've read about. :slurp:

And if you don't mind a character dinner, and they are fun even without kids, I'd also recommend Liberty Tree Tavern @ MK. A great "homecooked" meal, and you get to see Chip and Dale and a bunch of other characters. :sohappy:

Top three restaraunts at Disney:

1. California Grill at Contemporary
2. Artist Point at WL
3. Spoodles on the Boardwalk

All 3 a little pricey, but the best food and service in the world. Definitely get PS for CA Grill due to it's popularity.

If you time it right you can watch the fireworks at MK from CA Grill. They turn the lights down and pipe in the music. It's great.

Artist Point is the best place to try something totally different: Buffalo, Rabbit, Venison, etc.

Spoodles is a bit loud, but well worth it for the food, which has an Italian bent, real Italian, not Americanized; ie Olive Garden.

I agree with the earlier post about San Angel Inn. We're going there first thing on our coming trip. Didn't care for the food too much last time, but we've had good food there in the past and the atmosphere by the River of Time is very tranquil.

Akira, and this goes for westie as well,

you should try out the Flying Fish on the boardwalk. One of the best meals I've ever had period - not just @ wdw, and the best service I've had @ wdw. Excellent wine list, it's on the boardwalk just past spoodles (if you're coming from EPCOT).

westie,

I'd also recommend tony's town square @ MK. It's off to the right as you enter, directly across from city hall. I think they may have character dining at lunch now - not sure. Also check out boulangerie patisserie in France in EPCOT for a snack - great dessert! That is, after the San Angel Inn - my fav. EPCOT restaurant.

I guess I should say that it is for the adventurous at heart, and is deninatly not for everyone. I love food and any kind of food, I am so not picky. and african food is vastly different that what most americans are used to. they do have some backups, especially geared towards kids, if you dont like what they have there to eat.

but I do agree with you tiggerlover, I loved the desserts!

San Angel Inn is always a good choice. I also like Coral Reef but find it too pricey, especially at dinner, and their meal sizes kind of small.

But my three faves are Marrakesh--great atmousphere and it's pretty easy to just walk into since most people don't know the cuisine. The food and service is excellent. Beautiful dining room. And the belly-dancer defines the term "exotic babe."

Number two is Crystal Palace--for some reason very relaxing during a hectic MK day. Food selection for a WDW buffet is out of this world--too much to choose from. Again a beautiful dining room. And the Pooh Bear guys running around the place add to the fun.

Number three is something we stumbled upon--The Kringila Bakery in Norway. My God is this the decadent dessert place! Just as good as the Boulangerie in the France Pavilion.

Haven't done a lot of eating outside the parks, but we enjoyed Ohanas for its energy, food, show-style service and view of MK.

If you're a big pasta fan (like myself) I HIGHLY recomend Alfredos in Italy @ Epcot. Their Fettuccini Alfredo is WONDERFUL. They make the noodles every morning and the sauce is original, I believe. Its the BEST pasta dish I've ever had. They have a sister restaurant over in Rome also. I hear that Crystal Palace is a good place to eat. If you're leaving in 55 days then it will be closed. Went down on the 29th and will open sometime in December I believe. (GO FOR THE PASTA!! :D )

wow!

I'm @ the Beach Club this time and looking forward to those restaurants on the Boardwalk. The Swan/Dolphin have good places to eat. On my honeymoon they had to escort me back to the room after a stint in their mexican restaurants tequilla bar. All I remmember was it was free but, I left a $200.- tip!
I thank you all for your advice, we should write our own guidebook.

For someone like myself who is usually a high maintenance girl :D , this one's actually pretty cheap and easy! I love to eat and people-watch at Casey's, and I have to have the sugar cookies - that's it! :)

You actually stop to eat at Disney???? My idea of a good meal is one that can be plopped on top of DS's umbrella stroller and eaten while heading to the next attraction. Unfortunately, DW, DD, and DS usually overrule me and insist on actually sitting down to eat their meals. No food, more rides!

Artist Point is great!!!!

Been to AP at the Wilderness Lodge about three or four times. We have also sent various friends and family there. I have yet to have or hear about a bad experience. The food is great and fits the Pacific Northwest theme very well. Service is wonderful as well. The menu is more limited than it was a couple of years ago, but the staples are still there.

I have also enjoyed a non-Disney meal in Orlando (gasp!!!) Emeril's at Universal City Walk is very good. We went with two friends back in May and had the best service that I have every experienced. The food was also top notch. The price and distance from Disney may put it out of consideration, but it is a great meal.

I am big fan of Sci-Fi Drive in and Prime Time Cafe... food is moderately priced and very good and you cannot beat the 50's theming, love both places!!

Curious.. any feedback on the restaurants at the Japan Pavillion? Thanks!

the counter service restaurant at Japan is really good. I recommend the "shogun combonation". rice, chicken, and beef. and it is better than most Japanese takeout resteraunts I have been to. :)

enjoy!
