So what's the verdict on Mears Connect?

We used it on our most recent trip to transfer between MCO and CSR.

When we were at MCO, there were no buses picking anyone up for ages then a whole bunch arrived at once some 40-45 mins later. Fortunately, CSR was the first stop, but we also stopped briefly at Terminal C.

On the way back, the bus arrived exactly when it was supposed to and went straight from CSR to MCO fairly quickly.

I'd use the service again.

Is Mears still the preferred method? What about Uber or a Taxi? We're a family of 3 with minimal luggage, so paying for a trip vs. per person seems like the cheaper way to go. Also uber/taxi is direct door to door.
Am I missing something? Why Mears?

We had a fair amount of luggage and had young kids that would have been required to be in a car seat which made Uber or any other ride share difficult (you can sometimes get ride shares with car seats, but if you need multiple car seats it can be problematic and you never really know the condition of the car seat when you get there... I guess you could travel with your car seats, but that's just another thing to carry). If it were just me and the wife (or we were there with minimal kids that didn't need a car seat), I'd probably use the rideshare.

On our last trip, we had originally booked Sunshine Flyer (before they were acquired with Mears), but we arrived after Sunshine Flyer closed due to a delayed flight. It was easy enough to book Mears when we got to the airport, but it seems like we were put as the last stop. We probably stopped at six stops before finally going to AKL. Plane landed juts after 11 pm, we didn't get to our hotel until close to 1:30 am.

I’ve had good experiences with them - but it really only makes sense financially if you are traveling solo. The price for 2 adults is so close to the price of an Uber or Lyft without waiting and stopping at multiple resorts.

We flew in 2 days ago with 2 elderly folk and my two kids (5 and 3) . We ended up waiting about 30 mins in line while the staff cobbled together a custom bus. The lines based on resorts are loosely followed. It all depends on who and how many people are waiting. They ended up combining lines and just filling a bus this way.
