I can't believe no one has mentioned The Plaza!!! This charming sit down restaurant is a great place to eat. You get a beautiful view of the castle and the setting is calm. The Plaza has a menu of mostly sandwiches, like a french dip, bacon burger etc., but they are different than counter service fare. The best part is after your great meal they bring you their dessert menu!! The hand made malts and sundaes are delicious!!

Columbia Harbour House...hands-down for me. I love their tuna sandwiches...wish I could take them home with me and have them for lunch at work!

Tony's and Cinderella's Royal Table have some of the best food in the park. Granted, Tony's doesn't have the best Italian, but it ain't burgers... (barnum)

Cosmic Rays is my favorite spot for a lunch stop. BUT, it isn't because of Sonny Eclipse, it's because of the melted cheese that they have in a ketchup type dispenser! CHEESE! CHEESE for everyone!

In all the times that I have been to WDW, I think I *maybe* had a burger maybe once back in 1976 when I was little. Can't say I remember how it was thought

My father likes to say that we "eat our way around WDW". And yes, it's sad but true. We try different places for breakfast, but our favorite for MK is Tonys. We also have had dinner several times there as well. It makes for a nice respite, sitting and being waited on in a cool enclosed environment. Of course, for us, NO trip up Main Street would be complete without a cup of coffee and a pecan sticky bun at the bakery! :slurp: We also MUST have tacos at El Pirate y El Perico :slurp: :slurp: Double YUM here...and I am SO craving one right now!

I dont think there is a more magical spot to dine at MK than the Castle, though :)

I think all of these listed are good. But, I think it also will depend on where you are in the park when your stomach calls for lunch. We had gotten so into the park that when lunchtime arrived we had planned on eating at Pecos, but we were in Tomorrowland so we headed for Cosmic Rays. So, keep a mental note of which one in each area sounds good to you and head to that one.

Can't go to MK without going to the breakfast buffet at Crytal Palace. Liberty Tree Tavern is also a must visit. We usually do dinner, but are thinking of trying it for lunch next time on the recommendations of the members here. As far as my favorite food, it's the turkey leg. Not sure why I love them so much, but I can't leave MK without having one.

When we last went to WDW we ate at the Garden Grille in The Land. It was good to us and the waitress was very nice. That was 2 yrs ago.

My husband and I always hit the Columbia Harbor House at least once per trip. I will admit that I liked it better when they used the cornmeal breading (just like my grandmothers) rather than the batter they were using in May. Does anyone know if they have brought back the breadbowls of clam chowder? I missed those last time.

If I had to pick a second choice I think it would be Pinocchio's, which was especially fun when you could watch the boats in IASW.

Unfortunately that place has been closed on my last four trips. It's been years since I ate there - the one place I enjoyed the food.

When I first started to visit Disney in the late Eighties I enjoyed eating here when they had pasta dishes. It was nice to chow down on a beautiful day with the castle in front of you.

Yes, we lucked out, since the last two trips were both peak times: Easter and Thanksgiving. Maybe I will plan my next trip according to whether or not El Pirate is open  Seriously... I could chow down on a few tacos right now and I just had lunch!!

Guess given the choice of a taco or shorter queues, I'll go for the shorter queues :D

In all honesty, we didn't have a very long wait at all either visit. We even went back up for more on Thanksgiving (we were such piggies that day  ) Maybe people don't consider a good taco proper Thanksgiving fare since they werent turkey tacos :lookaroun

I was refering to the shorter queues for the attractions when you go off-peak. I'd rather sacrifice a taco for less time in queues.
