So... What Would You Rename Hollywood Studios?

I'm not sure why it would stay "studios" or "cinema" themed?? With the exception of the main street, I don't see any link to that theme anymore? I don't think "Disney's Florida Adventure" really works thematically because there's nothing "Florida" about it (California Adventure had Soarin' over California, a river raft ride through California-themed landscape, the pier, etc.) I think an "Adventure" theme works, but they can't call it Disney's Adventureland. Maybe it will be Disney's Intergalactic Adventure-- with Star Wars in a galaxy far far away, Buzz Lightyear, and if they re-theme ToT to GOTG, it may just work ;)

IP is Intellectual Property. Star Wars, Toy Story, Mickey Mouse, etc.. or as it may be assumed if you spend enough time here, IP is something that should never be in Epcot because it's the devil.

Could'nt E.P.C.O.T. technically be an IP itself? I mean, it was in a movie first...

I must think on this some more...

Stepping away from the name change subject for a moment...I would have redeveloped the park as they did DCA. DHS NEEDS some cash put into it! It can be an awesome park but it needs some love and money! Even a clone of DCA would be nicer than what the current park is now! Then it could be called Disney's Hollywood Park. I would love to see the park transformed into 1920's Hollywood like DCA was with the addition of the trolley and new statue of Walt arriving in Hollywood with his bags and a stuffed Mickey in tow!

Found this on Theme park insider that was talking about a Twitter post that showed a Disney Parks survey that show the list of the potential names for the park...

Brace yourselves folks.........Some of these names are pretty bad...

I saw that today and I just wanted to barf...

Those names make North West, Kanye's daughter, sound like a normal name.

I think something like "Mickey Mouse Studios" is a cool name, along the lines of @POLY LOVER's "Studio Mickey" idea. Not only is it a memorable one that keeps the "studio" part, but it even fits in with a new backstory for the park that I came up with.

My storyline is that Mickey Mouse has built a new movie studio, and each land is a backlot set for famous franchises:
  • Visit Mickey in the main Chinese Theater building
  • Go to the huge Star Wars - Galaxy's Edge movie set
  • Enter the animated world of Toy Story Land
  • Watch a screening of the new Muppet movie
  • Become actors in a new episode of The Twilight Zone
  • Witness a live filming of "Fantasmic"
  • Meet Aerosmith in their recording studio
Disney is also planning tons of new areas for DHS like Monsters Inc. so this concept, personally, is an interesting one.
Except DHS isn't themed around moviemaking anymore (and hasn't been for some time now.)
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge isn't a movie set (like the DHS version of Star Tours where you can see the stage lighting amd the backsides of the tree props), but rather a fully-immersive, as-if-you-were-there land.

I kinda like "Disney's Cinemagic Adventure." As many people point out, it's no longer Studio themed. It's also really not Hollywood themed anymore (except in terms that Hollywood is associated with movies). The point is that the theme is no longer a behind-the-scenes experience but instead is an attempt to enter into the stories of the movies. As such, the made-up (but Disney-ish) word "cinemagic" seems to capture what they are attempting with this park. Then "adventure" rather than "park" because "park" just seems kind of bland.

Yeah. The problem of getting rid of "Hollywood" means that these could be expendable at any time: Chinese Theater, Hollywood Blvd., Sunset Blvd, Hollywood Tower of Terror, Rockin' Roller Coaster (in LA), Hollywood Brown Derby, etc.

Aren't they already? I'm not saying that I want any of these to go. I just lack the imagination to see how these remnants of DHS fit with the new direction as expressed in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and Toy Story Land. I think the mere fact that Tower of Terror was discussed for a Guardians of the Galaxy makeover shows that the "Hollywood" part of the park is considered rather expendable.
