So what exactly changed? Matterhorn Edition

I've been refusing to watch any YouTube videos taken at Disneyland because I don't want to spoil myself, and I want to be pleasantly surprised. I have one question: So what exactly changed during the 2012 refurbishment. I know it's kind of old news, and this is probably already a thread, but I thought it would be easier if I just asked here. The last time I've visited Disneyland (in 1999), I absolutely loved Matterhorn Bobsleds, although I was terrified of Harold! Thanks guys! Please no pics or video!

The mountain was re-painted, some railings were added, the Matterhorn climbers came back, louder sound (Harold is seriously loud) and the ride received new bobsleds. Unfortunately, the new bobsleds are less spacious and tight for those with height. No more riding with another person. It's one to a seat, now. I wish they'd bring back the previous bobsleds. Still a fun ride, though.

I forgot to mention, a single rider option is now available.

No more lap sitting eh? Oh well. Are the seats like Space Mountain at WDW or more crammed? Just getting an idea. I'm not particularly tall, I'm actually 5"6

They're not like Space Mountain at WDW. No bars. With your height, you'll be fine.

The Matterhorn seating seems more cramped.

I was just there (yesterday literally). The seating, IMO is less cramped than at WDW's Space Mountain. The track is still rough, but everything looks bright and new.

And the new bobsleds removed any semblance of padding or comfort. Used to love the Matterhorn, but my bony can't take it anymore.

I did not realize the snow creature had a name....'Harold' is it?
Anyone care to elaborate the story behind that...his naming that is?

I believe a CM started calling him Harold back in the 60s or 70s and the name stuck.

The snake in Indy has a name as well... Fluffy. The ghost in Ghost Galaxy's name is Delores.
