So what awesome things are there to do in Nassau?

I'm 23 years old. Game to try interesting, fun things and soak in the culture a little bit. I've never been out of the country before. For those of you who have done the Bahamas cruise to Nassau, what did you do there? I'm game to hear it all. Touristy things, things off the beaten path. Anything like that, given it is able to accomplish within the given time restraints of the cruise.

2 out of 3 port calls to Nassau we've done the Atlantis Aquaventure which is FUN. Love it! Not very cultural, tho. The bus to/from can be if you get a good driver.

There's a small-ish market or festival-type center right at the end of the pier. It's really colorful in there. Lots of little booths selling things. If you get some postcards to send there's also a little post office window in there, too. When we bought stamps last September we asked for our change in Bahamian currency. Voila! Souvenir! I think in November when we go again we'll look for more to do. Or, the Aquaventure again wouldn't hurt my feelings. It's so much fun!

The dophin experience (not the one at Atlantas, the other one) was quite fun. Not cultural, not off the beaten path, and definately not cheap, but it was fun.

We enjoy walking the streets or visiting the various hotels and stuff. We once did a pirate adventure thing which was cute especially if you have kids. (Being teens at the time it wasn’t the best for us.) Our next cruise we are making our Nassau day a day at sea. Hopefully we can take pictures and just enjoy the time on the ship. Can’t wait! :)

We enjoyed the Queen's Staircase and Fort Fincastle, and on Paradise Island is Versailles Gardens.
Try conch fritters and conch salad..both very good.
Did not go there on a cruise, but did fly there and spent a week at Atlantis...over the top amazing.

Did you like the Versailles Gardens? We thought about going on our last cruise, but the reviews didn't seem that great.

And to be honest, I'm not getting off the ship for anything less than "great".

I would not call it great. We were staying at Atlantis and walked there on a quiet Sunday morning and it was pretty and we enjoyed it, but no, I would not rate it as great. We were there for a week and would call it more of a nice diversion when you have a lot of time.
