I am surprised by the number of..."these girls had it coming" comments. Would it have been ok for teen boys to be called **** phobic terms? Its one thing if you feel a lawsuit is overkill but the actor she be more creative then calling the girls sluts.
is not censored but homophobic(not a derogtory term anywhere) is...are we is Saudi Arabia? Edit Weird now they reversed

I'm not sure why 'homophobic comments' are being brought into this discussion as I don't think any were used? Being gay isn't a choice it's just the way somebody is and quite rightly they shouldn't be victimised for it. Calling somebody a or isn't nice but it's rather different than making homophobic remarks to somebody who is gay. To compare the two is perhaps sensationalising the story even further.

As you say though the actress could have been more creative with her choice of words but the reaction does seem excessive by the girls.

Facepalm. You can be called a derogatory term without being even being part of that group its usually directed at. For a teen boy being called something like that is close to the equivalent for a teen girl being called a . I am usining it to illustrate that neither is right, but society seems to treat women differently than men, which has been illustrated in many comments on here.

I'm sorry I have no idea what the word is you've blanked out is? You mentioned homophobic comments, why homophobic comments? I could call somebody 'a fool' or a racist word, both not nice but there's a big difference in the level reached.

I think referring to a young girl as someone who sells her body for money and is easy to.be pretty bad, and a lot worse than idiot.

You can say homophobic but you cannot say **** phobic. The four letter word is derogatory but the 10 letter word is not.

So the word being brought into the discussion is th first part of homophobic, right. But that wasn't said by the character so I can't understand why it's become part of this debate? Had the actress called them lesbians (she didn't) then I would find that far more offensive if used in a derogatory way as it's implying there's something wrong with being a lesbian and could offend lesbians present. However any sl##s present, probably weren't offended as that's what they choose to be.

There's a differece

Im so glad you can judge a womans sexual life based on what she wears, you should take that magic skill on the road, maybe a tent revival.
oh one more thing. Ask your wife or girlfriend, if you have one point black which question offends her more. "Are you a lesbian" or "Are you a sl#t?

Quite and that's why there's warnings about young people attending in the first place. I don't want to argue with you though and have agreed that it was probably wrong even though it was really just an 'act'. However I think it was blown out of proportion, I don't think bringing homophobia into it though is a balanced argument?

Still interesting points all round.

Where have I said I've judged the girls by what they wore, I have no idea what they wore and have said so in this thread?

I don't see where he ever said that.
Any sluts present choose to be....but I admit i think we are probably on the same page and maybe I read too much into that. I actually have very few issues with mergatriods posts on this compared with other commentors. he just responded first so sorry to him honestly.

Thinking about it, it would perhaps make quite a good show.

"And you, you harlot sitting there on row c seat number 43. Stand up and explain to the ladies and gentlemen of the audience about Mr Majors from next door and the prison officers uniform you had him wearing last night. Those thigh high leather boots tell me all I need to know about you and your depraved 'prison games', women like you sicken me"

I might contact Universal and offer them my tent revival act for next years HHN25 ...................................on second thoughts :D

I probably was called or heard the word a more times in middle school and high school then the rest of my life combined. It was in the 90s maybe kids don't use that word anymore. Anyone who wanted to put down a girl for some reason was one.
