So Sad

We just returned from our visit Saturday. I'm 57 and my wife is 56. Believe me, we're sad. No question about it. WDW is the only place we visit where going home is soooooooo depressing. What's wonderful to remember, though, is that WDW is operating every day. It will be there when we return. And that's comforting. God bless!

YES!! It's completely normal. If you truly feel the magic, you can't help but be sad. I start crying when we pass under the tunnel into Magic Kingdom (We ALWAYS go there first) and walk as S L O W as possible out of the park on the last day. In fact, I'm getting choked up now just thinking about going home again for our July trip. My husband and I are both in our 30's and there's no worse feeling than getting on ME to head to the airport....

We are so sad when we leave WDW :(. We had the best trip we've ever had this past April and I get tearful driving away. The first few days back home are sad. All three of us wish we were back there now.

There is no place on earth that we all love to be at more than WDW. We go every year. We would love to do a cruise, but would probably have to skip WDW one year to go on a Disney one. We can't bear the thought of not going.

AT over 44 I cried on the plane home in February due to leaving WDW and the snow on the hills of PA that we could see from the plane! What I have found helps is getting my pictures together from the trip and putting them into the photo album that I pick up while there. It helps to keep the magic going just a bit longer. Best wishes on your surgery and enjoy your trip in December.

I remember your post regarding the worries about the wheelchair & other people's reactions. It's a tough call, I think i probably wouldn't rent one unless I absolutely had to for the same fear. I'm glad you had a good trip, and it's totally normal to be sad.

I'm 26, and I'm always sad coming home. It's planning my next trip that helps me get happy again. Maybe thinking about your next trip can help you through your surgery. Think about some things you didn't get to do that you'll get to do next time - put yourself in a happier place - and before you know it, the surgery will be over.

Good luck with everything - you will do great. :)

Thanks to everyone for all the support. I have all my pictures burned to cds now and will be making videos on my laptop and putting pictures into scrapbooks while I'm recovering. I will keep everyone posted. I can't wait to go back in December. We had the best trip me and my family. It's amazing that no matter how old you get there is no better vacation than a Disney vacation.
Thanks again!

I am happy to get to WDW, then actually happy to leave. I love bring my family, but after a week or so I am glad to get away from the crowds & noise. Then about a month later I start thinking about when to go back.

I enjoy the silence of home, as well as the feeling of getting home from a trip.
