Hello all needing your advise. I am going to the World for 9 days in late Jan/early Feb, and staying @ AKL. Here are my ADR's so far:
Dinners- Sanaa, Artist Point, Captains Grill, Jiko, Boma, Rose & Crown. I usually also book WCC but I am thinking about trying something new(partly because of the menu switch). I am possibly looking to stay either around the MK area or Epcot. I was thinking about The Wave @ Contemporary. I could then use the monorail to get around. I will probably be dining Solo that night. Any thoughts on this restaurant or others that a Solo diner would be comfortable at? Also you can let me know what you think of my choices so far.
Breakfast-Grand Floridian Cafe, Boma,Captains Grill, Kona so far. Looking for another breakfast possibly near MK or HS, (no characters have done my share in past trips). Also how's my breakfast list so far?? Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!

Wow! All of your ADR's sound wonderful to me! You obviously have experience dining at WDW and have chosen, IMHO, some of the best restaurants on property.

At Epcot I would suggest Via Napoli if you are a fan of Italian/pizza...very yummy pizza and desserts! I also enjoyed Kouzzina on the Boardwalk. We are also doing Ohana for the first time this trip...but don't think you'd want to do that alone. I enjoy Kona Cafe for dinner too.

For breakfast, I don't really have any other suggestions...I don't do character meals either and my favorites are Kona Cafe and Boma..which you already have booked.

My first suggestion would be Ohana, at Polynesian Resort.. any time after 6 you can get. You can either watch the Wishes fireworks from your table, or go down to the Poly beach. Spectacular!!!!!

Rose and Crown is wonderful one of our best dining experiences, another vote for GFC, lovely setting and good service. My brother tried the Wave last year and loved it.

Sanaa - the bread service is amazing. Even if it isn't on your plan, order it.
Artist Point - I am not a big meat eater, so the entrees never do much for me. Their appetizers are to die for though. Their smoky portabello soup is the best!
Captain's Grille - I have eaten here twice. First time was great. Second time was meh.
Jiko - Signature experience. service and food are both superb.
Boma - It is buffet food, but the best buffet on property. They have something for everyone
Rose and Crown - I just ate there last month. Food was great, service was abhorrent. Not sure what I will do in the future.

For solo dining in general, I would suggest a restaurant where you can take your meal in a comfortable lounge. In the Magic Kingdom area, I think the best options to fit that bill are the Wave and California Grill, the latter being my choice. That lounge is fantastic. The seats are plush, the service excellent and you can order from the full menu anywhere you find a seat to your liking.

A little less traditional option might be to grab a quick sandwich type dinner at one of the resort pool bars. The new menu at the pool bar at the Grand Floridian actually looks pretty decent, and the pool bar at the Polynesian usually has some pretty enticing snacks. You could do a lot worse than grabbing one or two items to go and enjoying them beach side.

Sounds wonderful! Many people recommend The Wave for a nice breakfast. I haven't tried it myself, but the buffet sounds really good and seems to be reasonable priced.

Epcot area.....walk or boat to the Swan and Dolphin and eat at the BLUE ZOO. You can eat at the bar....bar menu or full menu. Very, very cool bar. And eating at the bar is a great place to eat solo. Plus, they arguably have the best menu, food and drinks at Disney World.
