So many Questions...So little Time :)

As we get closer to Jan 21st, the excitement builds a little more everyday. Reading the Magic boards, watching ride videos, looking at LOTS and LOTS of Disney pictures and the wait is killing me... :animwink: So here are some more ride questions.

1. On Dinosaur & The Safari, where should I sit in the car? Is the back rougher than the front and can you see from the back?
2. What is the drop sequence on ToT?
3. Is there any chance CoP will be open when I go?
4. I did'nt ride Maelstrom the last time I was there. What is it like? Is it on par with other Disney darkrides? I'm a big darkride fan, but the line was 1 1/2 hours the last 2 times I went to Epcot.
5. Not really a ride question, but are Illuminations and Fantasmic! shown every night in Jan?
6. One More. What's your favorite parade?

Cheers

well, I don't have all the answers for you but I can help with a couple:

I rode at the very back on Safari and I liked it back there, as did the rest of my family, they were hoping to ride there. It probably was a bit rougher than at the front or middle.

we rode both at the front and back on Dinosaur and actually, I can't tell you if there was a difference or not! I was too into what was going on in the attraction, it is a good one.

Maelstrom has fastpass, so that will help. it was closed for rehab when I was there in a few weeks ago, I'm not sure when it was scheduled to re-open though.

Tower of Terror I think dropped 4 times. I screamed a lot (for effect only!! LOL). I'm sure there will be others posting here who can better answer that.

My favorite parade was absolutely Spectomagic, it really is a great one, don't miss it!!

Have a great trip!!!:)

The Disneyworld website will have show times and park hours posted in December for January. They are not even sure of the schedules yet. And no, fireworks and even Spectromagic are not done everynite except in holiday or summer seasons, so check the Disneyworld website about a week before you leave.

1. I don't think it matters where you sit in either ride.

3. It depends on the park attendance that week.
4. Malestrom is a dark ride, similar to Pirates of the Caribean. It is a boat ride through the history of Norway, with vikings and such. It's a fantastic ride!
5. I beleive Illuminations is shown every night year round, im not 100 percent sure on Fantasmic though
6. Spectro Magic

ToT drops 4 times
If you sit near the back on the safari ride it is rougher (you bounce around a LOT!)
It doesn't matter where you sit on Dinosaur- it has hydraulics , so the whole car is rather bumpy
Illuminations is evry night (year round)
Fantasmic is usually on Friday and Saturdays
Maelstrom is a good ride, (there is a long wait at the end of it though) You must wait for the doors to open up in order to see a film on tourism in Norway. After you see it once, many people choose to walk through the theater to the exit doors on the other side and exit with the last group.
My favorite parade is Spectro Magic (now that the MSEP no longer runs)

Do you not mean Fantasy in the Sky is on at these times, and Fantasmic is on daily sometimes twice

The safari trucks sit 4 adults across. If you want to take pictures of the animals, then sitting on the end of the row is best. I don't think there is much diffrerence between the left side or right side though.

I can't answer the rest of your questions other than to say that the Christmas parade is my favorite.

We just returned and IMO the back of the truck is best on the Safari. You will bouce around a little but, you also have a chance to turn around and get a clear view out the back at any animals you missed. I prefer the left side of the truck (get on first in your line). The big cats (lions and cheetahs) are on the left side as you travel through although they are all very shy and you are fortunate if you catch more than a glimpse of either. Best bet: go EARLY in the morning when it is coolest. That's when we got our best cheetah views.

HAVE A GREAT TRIP!!! I wanna go back NOW!!!!

2. I just did it tonite (9-1-01) I really don't know what I just went on, there were 2 big drops, then a bunch of smaller ones??? I don't know, you get to see the park view twice, so their are two large drops then two fairly smaller drops? I really don't know, but in the cart I was in the whole back row is now seat belts, I thought they changed every row, but it was just the whole back row....

3. I think it will be open every saturday for the rest of the year, cause I never see the damn thing closed....

4. Went by last nite, and it's completely boarded up, we can hope it will get a major facelift, maybe it can be something worth waiting 5 minutes for now....

On Dinosaur, The front is always the best on any ride, if you can get it. But sitting in the very back row to the left is where I am thinking ht eT-Rex gets the closest to you. The car is made to "just miss" the T-Rex, and I'd say he gets closest to the very back

I'll be on the train in the club car celebrating with you.  Until then...Happy Unbirthday!!!!!:D :animwink: Now you have an excuse to celebrate before then.:)

I really can't wait. I'll be in the parks for 9 days, with a 1st timer no less, and one day off for the Super Bowl, which is my favorite day of the year. It's also an early B-day present for myself. My b-day is Feb 22. ARE WE THERE YET????:hammer:

Cheers

i would recomend sitting in the back for kilimanjaro simply because u can turn around to see whats behid you....in the other rows, the end seats are the only people who have really good views of the animals....as far as bumpy rides, it's very bumpy anywhere u sit....

as far as the rest of your questions go i'd say everyone answered them pretty well....have fun on your trip!

Anywhere you sit on the safari is an awesome experience, but if you sit on either the left or right sides you will be able to get the best pics. Also if you're in the back you have the added bonus of being able to shoot pics of the animals in back of the vehicle.

Dinosaur is bumpy anywhere you sit, but I find the best ride comes from sitting on the right side of the vehicle for a little surprise... hehe.

Maelstrom is a great ride, but not worth a two hour wait... If this same situation occurs during your next visit, there is a simple solution-- Fastpass! Just pick up one of those lil suckers, wander World Showcase and before you know it your time will be up. Also, you don't have to waith tru the movie at the end anymore. The last time we were there (July) my family and I found they had installed an exit door on the left side of the "village" you exit out to from the ride. As you step off the ship, look directly ahead of you and you'll see a red exit sign. Just walk right thru there if you don't wanna see the movie... which I only recommend for first-timers.

I don't know how many drops there are on TOT but it is quite a few, although they drop you the full 13 stories only 2 or 3 times as of my last visit.

I believe that Spectromagic is shown every night in Jan. and it is by far my favorite parade... especially when followed up with a little Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks action. Fantasmic and Illuminations are both amazing, must-see shows and I think Illuminations runs every night and Fantasmic runs at least every Fri. and Sat. night.

Hope this helps. Keep countin' down!

I can tell you that Maelstrom will be closed until Mid-October. I think it is one of the best rides at Epcot. The food at Norway is excellent as well. i'm sure that this has been answered already, but Maelstrom can be Fast-Passed.

Mark

P.S. I think that you should through the movie, since it is an interesting film that lasts five minutes.

1. I liked The Safari ride very much. I prefer sitting to the front as close to the driver as possible so you can actually hear what he/she is saying as the audio quality over the speakers isn't that great. Dinosaur? Can you believe I have never done that ride before?

2. I can't go on rides that "drop" (ie: Tower Of Terror), but I heard that ride is really a good time.

3. I've been to Disney 7 times this year alone and everytime I went to the Magic Kingdom... CoP is CLOSED.

4. Maelstrom is still under rehab as of 9.2.02

5. Illuminations are shown every night at Epcot. Fantasmic is, as well, I think. If you're at Epcot at night and about 20 mins before Illumninations, you can see the fireworks show from MGM right behind American Adventure. :)

6. Tapestry Of Dreams parade. Though, if you've seen this parade since the first day they ran it @ Epcot at the beginning of the millenium celebration -- the music does get a little annoying. As a matter of fact, this past labor day weekend was the first time I saw the parade in 7 months!

Other than that --- lets download the data -- come back and ride with us anytime... bye now ;)
