So many empty tables yet no ADR times?

This has come up several times in some of the spirited threads. Sounds like WDW is indeed choosing to simply under staff their restaurants based on anticipated demand. Perhaps spreading out the business to locations that might otherwise be ignored.

Just because there are empty tables does not mean there are available reservations. If a place is staffed less than 100% capacity then they are not going to seat all the tables. Food service 101. Don't make all your customers mad because of slow service if you are under staffed for unexpected demand.
Food Service 101....don't be understaffed....there is never any reason to not have enough staff on or to have empty tables in a restaurant and turn away guests.

I might understand a certain percentage of no shows. But we were at BOG in the library and there were maybe 10 other guests in the room ...it was like we each had our own corner.

Way way back before my husband and did ADR, if we were turned away at the door my husband would go to the pay phone dual 88 and 9 out of 10 times we would get a reservation. But that was just for 2
