So long World of Motion...Sad state of the Sea Serpent

Join me on this path of a random prop that goes from 1982 to 2011...... One of the last bits of WoM was the Sea Serpent, it was just a prop from one of the biggest AA attraction that seems to follow Walt's old feeling of never throwing anything away!

From 1982 to 1996 the serpent was part of a long lost World of Motion attraction in E.P.C.O.T. Center/Epcot.

From 1996 till late 2000 it was thought lost to the Test Track gods as a sacrifice to try and keep the attraction running (maybe it would have helped)

But in late 2000 as previews for Disney's California Adventure started, we found this gem located in the back corner of Hollywood Pictures Backlot near the restrooms for the Hyperion Theater.

Then sometime between 2004 and 2006 they did some changes and our friend was relocated next to the Backlot Stage.

Just when we thought it had found it final resting place, along came ElecTRONica in October 2010 and another change of out of props and it was GONE!!!!

That was till driving past a warehouse near Disneyland I saw something that caught my eye......

Well lets hope it makes it to another spot, it seems like all good things closed from WDW end up in Hong Kong so lets hope!

Thanks for the update on one of my favorite old props. Hopefully someone else can share a similar story about other props. Very interesting thread.

Hopefully it makes a return to DCA once elecTRONica's run has ended. Or better yet, bring it to the Studio's Backlot!

I'm still surprised they went to the trouble of sending it all the way across the U.S. to begin with (unless they had real plans for it besides a backlot prop)

Place it in the water adjacent to Test Track & Odyessy as a nod to WoM. Or if they bring it back for a part of a 30th anniversary exhibit at Epcot..
