so i was watching some stuff on discovery channel y'day and its got me a lil worried.... on the kilaminjaro safari's are you allowed to take photos? obviously not with a flash but i saw no one on the safari had cameras.

if we are out late at one of the parks in the EMH could we ever be left at the park? im staying at AKL and worried we wont be able to get home after MVMCP and some EMH at some of the parks.

how does one go about getting some ADR's? do i have to contact the restuarant directly? or do they do email? i know we probably wont be able to get them this late.

how far is it from AKL to MK? does anyone have a quick way to get there using the WDW transport?

I really doubt you will be left behind in the parks, transportation runs for about an hour or so afterwards and you can always get a cab,

Call 407 WDW-DINE, have your desired restaurants, dates and times ready. Also have alternates as a back up. You never know what is available and you can always call daily while you are there.

Not sure of the distance or the quickest way there, sorry.

The two questions I can answer.

Cameras are allowed on the safari, however the vehicle cannot stop to allow you to take photos. They drive fairly slowly though so you should be fine. Lots of folks take photos on the safari.

ADRs: Call the dining number in my signature.

I've gotten a few bloody lips from having my camera bounce off my face....

.....but the pictures of the Lions that morning were worth it. (They were ... um ... "playing" :lookaroun )

On the last question, unless you have a car then the Disney Busses are best and easiest. Really, going from park to park by Bus is easier than a car anyways.

Dont worry about getting left behind in a park, it wont happen :)

Don't worry about getting transport back to your resort, as one poster said the transport usually runs for about an hour sometimes longer after the park close.

If you can't get dining reservations to a restaurant in a park that you really want to go to, try going to guest relations or to the restaurant right away when you get there (on the day you want to eat there) and see what is available. I believe they usually leave spots open for that.

As for going to the magic kingdom from animal kingdom lodge I don't know the distance, but the only option for Disney transportation is by bus. My guess is it will take about 15 minutes or so. If you are trying to go to the MK from Animal Kingdom park there is a bus that goes to the Transportation and ticket center and from there you can take the ferry or monorail.

Yes you are allowed to take pictures on the Kilaminjaro safari, I have several dozens of shots from the safari from my last visit in 2006.

If you are at one of the parks for a late night EMH, disney transport will continue to run for I believe an hour after the park will close. If the extra magic hour keeps the park open until 10, then buses will run until 11.

Can't really help you on the ADR's.

Buses will run from the AKL to the MK every 15 minutes starting an hour before the park opens and ending an hour after the park closes. I am not exactly sure how long the distance is. I would estimate that it is about a 10-15 minute trip.

I hope this was of some help to dispel some of your concerns.

You can take cameras but make sure you hold on to them! It can get a little bumpy. I can't see why your flash would ever go off, there is plenty of sunshine!

I doubt you will have a problem with this. I know I was a little worried on my first visit but there is loads of transport around. I think the buses will run till at least one hour after the park closes and (if memory serves) will about 1.00am or 2.00am for DTD. Somebody else might be able to give you a definate answer.

Call the number with other people have given. You never know. You might get lucky for some of the restaurants. When I was there in January we had no prior reservations and got into every restaurant we wanted apart from the Royal Table. For a couple of them we needed to make reservations on one day for a couple of days later but for most we were able to reserve around lunch time for an evening or just turn up.

Best way to get there is use the buses. Just jump on the one from AKL which is going to the MK and just wait till you arrive! Otherways are to go to Downtown Disney and then on to the MK (seems a little long winded) or you could go to Epcot and then jump on the monorail. The monorail is outside of both parks so you can get straight on it without a park ticket. Honestly though, I dont know why you would choose anything other than a simple bus from AKL to MK though. Anything else seems a little too much effort!

Hope that helps!

Everyone has answered pretty much all the questions, but I just thought I'd add a little something.
I read somewhere that AKL is the farthest from MK and it takes about 20 min. by bus to get there. Just take that into consideration if you will be trying to make any ADR's at MK.

We leave in 9 days and we are staying in the AKL so I can tell you for sure how long the bus ride takes when we come back.

(9 days:sohappy:9 days:sohappy: 9 days:sohappy:!!!!!!!!)

Although it's stated that Disney Transportation runs for an hour after park close the buses will not just automatically stop 60 minutes after park closing. Transportation will continue to run until ALL the guests are out of the park.

And when traveling from place to place for dining always leave at least an hour to get there because you never know when transportation will show up. If you arrive early you can still check in if you like or go and explore the area and then check in closer to your ADR.

Distance-wise, it is less than five miles from the AK parking lot to the MK parking lot. The bus drop-off and pick-up at the MK is actually right near the turnstiles, so you don't need to factor in monorail or ferry travel time. The taxi stand at the MK, on the other hand, is out at the TTC, so you *would* have to factor monorail or ferry time going that route. You should be just fine taking the bus, and giving yourself an hour if you have dinner reservations is excellent advice.
