im going to be staying there in april and i dont know to much baout it how is it

Seems people either love it or hate it. We will be ones who will not be returning; loved the area, but not the resort/restaurants. There have been a few threads on the Boardwalk (one just the other day, I believe) and a quick search should bring them up. I'm sure they will answer most of your questions.

we are DVC members... in in '99 and '02 we stayed at the BW and really enjoyed it. It was the first time for us staying at in a villa and not a studio. THen in '04 and '06 we stayed at the beach club, and loved it even more than the BW.

this past month we tried the BW again.. It's nice.. but we wont be returning. The people there just.. aren't as nice or "magical" if you will as the are at other resorts we have visited. No one really greets you when you come in.. it just didn't seem friendly, or kid friendly for that matter.

how ever, the location is fabulous! It really all depends on where your room is though, our room was SOOO far away from the elevator, but close to a staircase.. and our room looked over the community hall and a quiet pool, so it was only a short 15 minute walk to MGM, and about the same distance from Epcot.

but if your room is like.. on the other side... you could have a 10 minute walk to Epcot, but a 20 minute walk to MGM.

there is alot to do in that area as well.. the pool is cute, nothing compared to the BC but still nice. My family liked the resturants we have been too... ESPN club, Spoodles, and Big River Grille. And scoops is a good ice cream place.

You'll have fun.. Hopefully they have obtained a more friendly staff...

Diff'rent Strokes!

Yeah, your probably gonna find a mixed bag of nuts here. A quick search will turn that up.... BUT, imo:

I think it's geniuosly themed, and it's great for people travelling with teenagers or young adults, with all the fun to be had at Jellyrolls. The food is a little more upscale then most places. If your staying in the rooms above the boardwalk, you get a real beautiful view of Epcot (we stayed in room 4001 and I recommend it to everybody!).

One of the benefits to this resort is it's close proximity to some other resorts, so while you food options may be limited here, a quick trip to Y&B or Swan and Dolphin will expand them quite a bit.

I think this resort is best suited to the older crowd, but I think you can have fun staying anywhere on disney property. If your going for a good meal, some fun night life, and a quick trip to Epcot and MGM this would be a great resort pick.

I really loved this resort, and if I had the means, I would definately make this my DVC home resort!

We Love Love LOVE the Surrey Bikes! They are so much fun especially when you have a group of 4 or more! It's $20.00 for a half hour rental which is about 3 laps around the Boardwalk...perfect amount of time in my opinion!

And the street performers are AMAZING! We have spent many nights this past summer just visiting the boardwalk area for the evening. We usually grab a pizza at the Spoodles Quick-Sevice window and get a table outside and watch everyone. The silent actor (he's not really a mime, but almost) is the best! I can't remember his name, but we've watched him dozens of times and participate in his skit every once in while!

it's definitely worth an evening to hang out at the Boardwalk!

Don't forget, if you have little kids, the Beach Club plays movies on the beach every evening. This is available to resort guests and visitors! Last time I was out there they were showing Cars.

Thanks so much for the info.!
This would probably be a great thing for us - we have 7 people in our group, ages ranging from 60 to 5.

We loved the surrey bikes too, but make sure you have some able bodied people with you because the hills can be a killer!

My kids (teens) loved playing the midway type games while waiting for dinner to be served at the Big River Grille.

Are you asking about the BW Villas (DVC), or the BW Hotel (Deluxe Resort)?

I found the BW Hotel to be one of the most elegant places I've ever stayed. I loved the theming, and the decor of the guest rooms. We stayed there once, prior to joining DVC.

While I love the convenience of the location of the BW Villas, it is not my favorite DVC resort. As others have mentioned, you could possibly wind up in a room that is a very long walk from the elevator (down freezing cold corridors, and a couple of opportunities to miss the turn for the hallway that leads to your room). The room decor is a bit more rustic than the other DVCs (although I haven't stayed at the WL, I imagine that would be rustic as well, but I would expect that in the wilderness :) )

There aren't as many rooms on the Hotel side, so you don't run into the same degree of distance from the elevator on that side, if I remember correctly (and it was ten years ago, so the memory may be fuzzy)

I've never experienced a problem with the staff there, except that sometimes there can be an extraordinarily long wait at the front desk, even when there isn't much of a line.

this is pretty much my assessment as well. i went with my company and we stayed in what i assume is the main part of the hotel over the registration desk, so it was pretty easy to get to the room. i didn't realize how big it was til one day i took a walk... all the rooms on the swan side surprised me! so i was glad we weren't there.

because it was an upscale trip for me, i can tell you that it was GREAT! now if i had paid money i'm sure i would have found something to complain about for the price tag lol

but it is a beautifully decorated hotel! VERY VERY VERY quiet.

we went in may. weather was PERFECT
