So Excited! Staying on Property!!

Ok, so I will probably write in my PTR about this tomorrow, but I'm so excited I had to share now!

My fiancé just booked our hotel for two weeks time! Now, we thought due to money constraints there was no way we could stay on property at all. BUT he just found a great deal online that cost only slightly more than where we were going to stay!! So we get to stay inside Disney!!

Soo... It's now officially booked, Best Western Lake Buena Vista Resort, we are coming at you! It may not be a Disney Resort Hotel, but I'm so beyond happy because I didn't even think we would even come close to inside WDW on our budget.

So yeah, this post has no real substance other than I needed to share my squealing with people who understand. XD

Thank you very much for the info. We will be aaying no to timeshare, ain't nobody got time for that! And its good that the rooms are spacious even just for two of us.

How do the shuttles work exactly? Is it a separate bus for each park or one bus that goes everywhere?

I honestly don't remember much about the shuttles, but I want to say there was one for each park.

We didn't have a DTD view, but a trick we learned was that the staircases are outside and not locked from the inside (don't let it close you out though! You'll be locked out!) and we were able to stand on the stairwell and watch the fireworks at Magic Kingdom.

Yeah, we tend to drive to the parks and then take the bus back to the hotel during the day if we want a break, that way our car is still at the parks at the end of the night. You do have to pay for parking though, staying at the Best Western.

Yeah the fiance will.have his car so that is always an option. He practically jumped on the bus idea because it means he isnt paying for parking. :p We will try out the shuttle first and if it doesnt work out we will just stick with the car.

Just curious... what's to stop those who stay close to DTD hotels from using the buses to get to the parks, etc...? I mean, couldn't you just walk or park @ DTD and then hop on a bus so you don't have to pay for parking?

Yes, and people do it all the time. The key is, there are no direct buses from DTD to the theme parks. You have to take the bus to a resort and transfer.

Take the bus from DTD to Boardwalk and then you can walk to the back entrance of Epcot or over to Disney Hollywood Studios.
BTW both are nice relaxing walks.

Take the DTD AK lodge bus then transfer to AK bus.
Take DTD Contemp bus and walk over to MK

In both pictures DtD would be to your right. It's a very nice hotel.
