So excited... Had to share!

So, I just got the mail and low and behold, my DME packet came today!! YAY:sohappy: Makes the trip seem that much closer! Can't wait for Sept to get here.

So... I also have a question for all you experts out there. Our plane does not arrive at MCO until 930p. Do you think we should get our luggage ourselves?? And realistically if we get our own bags, what time do you think we will make it to POP by? Appreciate your help!

Yeah...That just puts the icing on the cake. It's like it is almost here...Yea I am so excited for you!

As for the luggage ? I would I think I saw a sign on our way into the airport that said ME would be available until 10 PM. On our honeymoon years ago we checked in really really late. And didn't get our luggage until well after two in the morning. If I were you, I would go ahead and pick it up as a just in case. Though I am sure Disney can confirm for you.

Isn't that one of the best feelings in the world when that packet comes.

Personally I'd get my own bags. It doesn't take THAT long. Then you can just get to Pop unpack and go to bed. If not it could take a few hours before your bags come and by then you might want to be in bed.

Aw, congrats! Getting your DME packet is the best feeling! :sohappy:

I've always gotten my luggage in 2-3 hours, but also have heard stories of it taking longer. I agree that I would just get your own at that point, in case you need something to get ready for bed. If it doesn't come until after midnight, it could be a pain.

We've gone twice now when our plan has come in at 11:30 at night. The first time we just packed what we would need for the night and the next day in our carry ons and got our suitcases in the morning. We were staying at Wilderness Lodge and bell services brought them up when we called. ME also took off about 5 mintues after we got on.

The second time we were the last ones off the plane and we just happened to be walking past the luggage carosel for our plane on the way to Magical Express and our suitcases were going around so we grabbed them and took them with. But again we had packed our essentials in our carry on. It was nice to have the bags right away but we were prepared for not having them. This time ME waited 20-25 minutes to take off after we boarded.

I thought it be best to get our luggage ourselves, but just wanted eveyones opinion.

It is such an awesome feeling! Yeah, I'm with you, I figure take the extra 30 minutes get my luggage myself and be at POP by 1130p... Do you think that is realistic?

Thanks! I figured it shouldn't take that long to get our bags... Problem is, I'm used to waiting at least an hour for my luggage when at PHL, I just don't want it to take that long! But, I hear MCO is pretty good with getting luggage up and out! I sure hope thats the case. We usually don't fly in that late, but opted for a later flight this trip b/c I didn't want my DS to miss too much school so early in the school year.

Maybe I am wrong but don't you have to get your own luggage if arriving after 9pm or maybe it is 10pm? When we go next month, our plane isn't landing until like 9 or so at night so we will be getting our own luggage. We usually do this anyway. It isn't that big of a deal really, unless you are a very heavy packer. I suggest luggage with wheels just to make it easier.

Great!!! Thanks everyone!! It's just that it's been so long since I have had to retrieve my own luggage when flying into Orlando!!! DME got be spoiled! :ROFLOL:

If I were getting there that late in the evening, i'd just get my luggage and bring it on the DME bus. It would be easier for you. You wouldn't be woken up in the middle of the night with the bags at your door, and you'll have all your things all ready for the morning.

Have a wonderful trip!! I love when the DME package arrives...so exciting!!

In June we landed at 9:57pm (ME had exact time printout) and they took care of ours. ME Rep said said 10:00pm is cut off and 9:57 is before and sure enough when we got to our room at 11:15pm it was there. :wave: Shawn
