I'm not sure if there is a thread for this already, but I am curious about who is from (and/or lives) in So California.

Since I know some people may not want to give the place names where they actually live, putting down how far you live from DL and WDW (as well as how long it would take you to get to either place if you drove.) would be just as cool.

I'll go first.....

I was born and raised in Sunny (when it is not rainy or smoggy) Southern California. I live 40 minutes (that is if the 91 is deserted......) or 1 hour and 40 minutes (when the 91 is a handful and a half.....I'm sure you know what I mean.....) from DL depending on the day.

I know that it would take me 3 and half days to get to WDW if I drove. I have no idea how many miles that is, and I'm honestly too bone tired to look for the answer right now.......

Well, if I were you, I'd move out of that "girlie man" (girly-man?) state!

I live in Orange County, Villa Park to be exact, about 7 or 8 miles east of Disneyland as the crow flies, just southeast a bit from the Riverside and Costa Mesa freeway interchange. And I can see the Disneyland fireworks perfectly from my deck, and on a clear day I can see the Matterhorn, and Catalina Island too.

San Diego resident, here!

I live about an hour and fifteen minutes from DL, but I've made it in 45 before. :lookaroun I try to go every few weeks (I have a PAP) but this summer's been a bit busy at work.

It's been a few years since I was last at WDW. I did the College Program from 5/02 to 5/03, and that was the last time I was there.

In from Latham, New York, it's about 20 minutes out side Albany, New York. As every one knows Albany is the capital of New York state.

Right now, Latham has been voted the best place to live in New York state. House, even little crappie ones, are selling really fast down here. My husband and I rent an apartment from my mother. We have no kids yet, but we want some.

We do have a really cute pug puppy! Check out my signature for Distance & Photos!!

That is really cool! I went to DL of my Honeymoon. It is soo pretty down in San D.
We went to Hollywood and I was a little disappointed on how down it looked. Not as glamorous as I thought it would be.

I’ve never seen that before. :p I always take the 91 to get to the beach cities and I can honestly say I don’t remember seeing it empty.

I live in the Rancho Cucamonga area…give or take 40-45 minutes to get to Disneyland. I have an AP to Disneyland, but haven't had the chance to go much this year.

Deserted/Empty=The section between the 71 and the 55 ( I normally jump on the 55 and get off at Katella so I use this as a reference) doesn't take a half hour to transverse.:) This is rare for me to behold.

Handful and a half= The 91 in normal circumstances......the bumper to bumper traffic, the waiting, seeing those people with FastTrak transponders moving much faster in their lanes than you are in one of the other three....

Tolerable= When it is not: Rush hour(s) and/or weekends.

When headed towards Disneyland, I avoid the 91. It’s easier for me to take the 210 to the 57 and get off on Ball Rd.
Now thanks to the 15 for being so packed, it takes me much longer to get to the 91…and sometimes I’m stuck in Norco…yummy cow smell. :lookaroun

The 91 that most have come to know very well! :p

Tolerable…usually around midnight on the weekend.

Sunday night on the 5 around Oceanside, THAT wasn't even the case! I went through there about 1am on the way home from DL, and traffic came to a complete standstill. No accident, no construction. Just stopped, for no reason at all.

I live in an igloo in Ottawa(Canada) and have a pet penguin and know your friend Frank. I'm not sure how long it would take to get to WDW by dog sled. :lookaroun

I agree with you about the midnight on the weekend thing...although I had the pleasure of doing that exactly once in my life. Normally, I'm in bed at that hour. :snore:

I actually live closer to the 215 than I do the 91, but there is no fast way to get to DL from the 215.....sigh, that freeway is a lot better than the 91 most of the time.

Doesn't the 210 begin in and around Fontana? I know that they're still building it on that end towards the 15 or 215 (Don't remember exactly which.....:lookaroun) If I lived closer to the 210, I'd take the route to DL that you use. Alas, I do not.....

Don't get me started on the 215 :lookaroun .

Yes, the 210 currently ends in Fontana off of Sierra Ave. (about 5 miles past the 15) and they're building the freeway over Highland Ave.. It's so weird to see Highland gone because I grew up in that area.
I think eventually it will connect to the 30.

:)

I've got family in LA and just outside Santa Barbara, they are all transplants from Jersey circa 1980. From what I understand its very nice and similar to FL in many ways but I just couldn't get around the "Gun Control" thing, its even worse in NJ from what I understand.

Yes, that part of the 215 is H%^l in a handbasket. In my post though, I was referring to the part that splits off from the 60 (Right outside of Moreno Valley) and goes south towards Perris, Sun City, Menifee and Murrieta before it disappears into the Southbound 15.......

That part isn't so bad IMHO. YMMV though.

That is good about having the 210 connect with the 30....that means a straight shot to the San Fernando Valley without the mess that one would deal with if you used some of the other monstrosities that they call freeways here. (**Cough**I-5**60**118**Cough**):)

Another So Cal'er here. I live near downtown LA and am a CM at Disneyland (formally a CM at WDW). It is about 30-45 min away on average. I also take the 91, but from the west ( So I go, 110 to 91 to the 5). If I have someone with me it is great cause there are carpool lanes the entire way!

It's very nice to meet you DisneyFreak529. But I'm still searching for your connection to SoCal. :D
