How would Idina Menzel make any sense, she is know for Broadway, not movies, I believe most of the handprints in front of the actual Grauman's Chinese Theater are all known for being famous movie stars. Which she is not.

Idina has been in the original casts of 2 amazing Broadway Musicals, Rent and Wicked, she has won a Tony award. She has been the voice of a Princess in Frozen and was a co- stared in Enchanted. Young people would recognize her as Rachel's bio mom on Glee. The Disney connection alone should be a reason to put her in the Disney theater.

The people getting to put their hands in the cement these days is just a publicity stunt all the judges on X Factor doing it the same day etc. Disney would be smart to do the same and start doing casts of their movies.

Col. Potter: [speaking to American troops] Don't shoot! Don't shoot! We're one of you!
Hawkeye: Yeah. Betty Grable. Apple pie.
Col. Potter: Clara Bow!
Hawkeye: Clara Bow? Frank's right; you are old

No, I don't remember seeing any Clara Bow films but yes I'm old, being retired Army my DS asks me what it was like at Gettysburg, etc. all the time. I took my DS to see Santa at the mall and Santa asked me how old my grandson was? I mentioned to my DW I will always remember where I was when I heard about President Kennedy, and I asked do you. She replied "I wasn't born yet."

Interesting, I did not know that, I always assumed it was just for actors and producers of movies since it is in Hollywood.

Yep. Hollywood is the home of film, but lots of entertainers in other fields started in Hollywood. Same goes for the Hollywood Walk of Fame, there are people from different fields, not just film and music.

I love this idea! Honestly I haven't looked at the people back there in a while, but if Tom Hanks is not there than they should do him and Emma Thompson for Saving Mr. Banks. I would most definitely fly from NY for that ;)

TGMR is about great, classic movies.

None of that qualifies her as a movie star, much less part of great, classic movies.

I don't really care much either way, but it doesn't really seem like she belongs. IMO.

So as long as we're adding Indina Menzel, we can add Kristin Chenoweth too, right (theoretically)?? :p I have always had a strange obsession with her :cautious: And now that I know she played "Ga-linda" originally that makes it that much better! Sorry for the random comment...I just really love Wicked...and Kristin Chenoweth... She's so Popular. Seriously guys, What is This Feeling I have for her and for Wicked...It's Wonderful. I guess I'm just A Sentimental Man. Something Bad is happening to my sense of humor...it's turning Wicked, but am I turning Wicked as well? And you know what they say...No One Mourns the Wicked.

Wicked humor...I need a life :p;)o_O:hilarious:

Maybe make them interactive?

What I'm thinking is replace some of the unused squares with screens (or project on them. Not sure if that would work when sunlight is on the courtyard). In the GMR queue, have kisosks setup where guests can create virtual hand prints which are then displayed on the screens out front (which could optionally be added to one's Photopass??). Screens would cycle though the guest's submissions from that day.

Or something like that.

If WDI is reading, that is a freebie. Anything to help The GMR.

The five categories are motion pictures, television, audio recording & music, broadcast radio, and theatre/ live performance. Gene Autry is the only individual to have a star for each category. There are also occasional "Special" stars, though most of these aren't on the Walk of Fame proper.

Haha....well I can honestly say I have never seen the parking lot, so I would have missed this, we almost always take the boat to HS, and the few times we have taken the bus we get dropped off right up front. But thanks for the heads up.
