So...about adding handprints to the Chinese theater....

Back in the olden, golden days of DHS (MGM), Disney got celebrities to stop by for a short time, be the grand marshall of the Studios parade, hobknob a bit with park visitors...and then leave a little piece of themselves by cementing their handprints in front of the Great Movie Ride.

Harrison Ford, 1991.

The practice was discontinued in 1999, with Michael J. Fox being the last addition.

I'm thinking that, if Disney should ever revitalize the GMR, they should bring back the handprints.
Get Johnny Depp on there, Robert Downey Jr., Jennifer Lawrence, etc. Make it a part of the marketing campaign for new releases.
"Frozen" was just released...why not give Idina Menzel the concrete treatment?

There's plenty of room in the courtyard....and even more if you tear out a few of the unnecessary ones. I mean, really, does anybody actually care about Charlie Korsmo? Not even Charlie Korsmo cares; he couldn't even spell his own name right!

I have no clue who Idina Menzel is and you think this person is famous for be a voice actor in one film?
Charlie Korsomo... who? Idina Menzal... who?

Hollywood Studios is no longer a "Studio" I see no point.

This was Disney’s attempt to recreate the front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood where famous stars used to do the same thing. Stars from Clara Bow to Marilyn Monroe are immortalized there. Disney attempted to recreate rather than imitate, also I’m not sure what the copyright laws are for something of this nature.

Idina Menzel is pretty well known, but yeah...

Think that if they re-did it they should only get actors who have been around a bit/ respected and not invite actors/ actresses who played glittery vampires, straddled wrecking balls or has called everyone ugly then goes to rehab, to put their finger prints all over disney.

I love those slabs! Robin Williams and his "Carpe per diem" cracked me up! But I like all of them.

It does seem a bit odd to have famous theater people there because it's The Great MOVIE ride, but I like them all and enjoy checking them out. :)

I love this idea! This would be a great and minor way to revitalize Hollywood Studios, particularly the hub area. But I feel like Disney no longer believes in the Old Hollywood theme of DHS. :( They seem to see it more as a dumping ground for cloned attractions from Disneyland and shoehorned franchise tie-ins.

I agree...getting back to this would be a great way to bring back some of the buzz to the "studios" theme. It seems like they have kind of been coasting since MGM left the scene and it would be nice to see something like this be part of a renewed dedication to the parks on the part of the company. In my own personal utopian heaven they could remove/relocate that hat too in order to help recapture the essence of the park by actually being able to see the "Graumans Theater" building...right now I do not think anyone even realizes what it looks like as they squeeze between the back of the hat and the ride entrance.

Col. Potter: [speaking to American troops] Don't shoot! Don't shoot! We're one of you!
Hawkeye: Yeah. Betty Grable. Apple pie.
Col. Potter: Clara Bow!
Hawkeye: Clara Bow? Frank's right; you are old

LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea, especially for including Idina Menzel. I would make a special trip to the Studios (how long has it been now? months? years?) to see her.
