If you're in line and there's a wait that goes past closing, they don't kick you out of line. As long as you're queued up before 9:00 PM (or whatever closing happens to be), you'll be allowed to ride.

We do this every time! We avoid that entire area until the last 5/10 minutes before closing and get in line. By the time we get out, the park is far past closing times, but there are still buses going and long lines for the buses. We only get to ride it once per trip, but at least we make the most of our time during the day :xmas:

You are so right! I'd have visited TOT if I had known more about the chicken exit. Drops make me ill, while spinning is thrilling - go figure! (Tea Cups here I come)
The rest of my family rode while I shopped...

Same here; I have to promise to take it easy on the extra spinning to get anyone to ride tea cups with me. I came off ToT on the verge of hysterical tears.:hammer:

I think maybe at TSMM they ask you to leave the portion of the line that's in the building. When we were there for passholder previews prior to the official opening (I know, not the best occurance to compare) the ride went down and they made everyone leave the building. I asked if we could stay in line and was told no, everyone had to go out. On the outside I asked again and was told we could wait in the restricted area in line but we wouldn't be reentering the building until/if the ride came back up....which took over 2 hours. :lookaroun DH & I waited and got our hard-earned first ride. :D

It has to do with building capacities and fire codes.

Which means, I guess, that you never go on "that ride," because it hasn't been a walk-on since it opened, except maybe during a hurricane.

There may not be a single attraction in all of WDW which is more popular, especially when compared to its riders-per-hour ratio.

Waited ten minutes to get on last year in June.
Got there before rope drop, headed directly there, a boatload of people stopped for the fast pass. Some of us went right in, instead, and were done riding before those at the end of the fast pass line were at the machines...
It can be done, but you have to hit it early.
Meanwhile star tours, even with the redo, is still almost a walk on. It was a pity, they put a lot of effort into the revamp and I wanted to stop and admire some of the handiwork, photo the droids and such, but i had to keep moving.
We hit toy story for the FP this week, then went over and did both star tours and tower of terror, and when we got back the FP was good. We can always see all we want of MGM before having to leave for dinner...

Disagree - MIB is well done, the DL version of Buzz is pretty good....WDW version is weak.

I have no idea why TSMM is still so hot...

Same here. It's fun, but not worth all the hassle of rushing around trying to be the first to either ride or get a FP to ride.
