Snacks

You can bring stuff into the parks. Most things you will read will tell that you should not do this, but if you keep it dicreet you can. Not only can you bring snacks, we bring our lunch every time we go. We bring a small soft-sided cooler with sandwiches, drinks and snacks. We rent a locker for the cooler, and at lunch time we find a shady spot to eat our lunch. Then we eat dinner at a resturant.

Last time one of the security bag checkers jokingly said he was going to meet us for lunch. Obviously they would prefer people buy lunch in the park, but if you don't make it a big deal, they won't stop you.

I agree they prefer you purchase food inside the parks, but you are allowed to take it in with you.

YEP! Bringing in snacks keeps the kids from getting too cranky and holds you over til your dining reservation is ready!

Avoid glass bottles and cans if possible. Bring drinks in plastic containers. Good suggestions for snacks include pretzels, baby carrots, apples, crackers, and maybe even PB+J sandwiches if you feel like making them. They all travel well and stay fresh for the day! Remember to drink lots of water in addition to soda to stay hydrated!

The suggestion about the locker is good if you only plan on eating during lunch or dinner, but there's no telling when you might want a snack and sometimes the lockers are very far from you are in the park, so just bring them along in baggies in your purse or backpack!

We usually bring small bags of trail mix, peanutbutter crackers or cheese & crackers (those Handi Snack kinds), individual bag of nuts or pretzels, cereal bars/fruit bars. We've also brought in CapriSun packs or drink boxes. You can buy bottled water at home and those new drink sticks to mix in if you like. We carry them in a zip loc bag in our back pack (the string kind...not to big or heavy and they stow away on rides very easily).

We always bring snacks in with us, juiceboxes too. When I was there in April we were waiting outside for Festival of the Lion King and a family of five sat down on the ground, the dad pulled out a loaf of bread, a jar of PB and a jar of jelly and went to town making sandwiches. It was so funny. But thats what you have to do when you have a large family. You'd go broke eating all your meals/snacks at WDW. LOL!

Definately is a savings bringing snacks or something.

DITTO DITTO, we always did exactly this when my kids were really young. I found when the kids were hungry @ lunch time the lines to all the dining spots always seemed so long, but we had our cooler and was able to find a nice spot anywhere in DISNEY to enjoy our lunch with avoiding the lines. We always tended to buy ice creams and sodas later on in the PARKS while walking around. :D

Are we allowed to take snacks or food into the WDW parks?
As has already been established - yes you can.

It's been quite a few years since it was the case that Disney forbid anyone from bringing their own food into the parks.
