Smoking policy at WL

What is the smoking policy at Wilderness Lodge as far as smoking on the balcony.....is that allowed? If not, does anyone know where the smoking areas are at this resort? (I don't want to offend while in WDW):lookaroun

I'm not sure where the smoking areas are at WL, but I know smoking on the balcony is no longer allowed. The new smoking policy killed that along with smoking in the rooms.

ALL resorts went non-smoking last year. That includes your balcony. There are designated areas in each resort where you can smoke. I don't know where the WL ones are off-hand as I've not been there in a few years, but I'm sure they're clearly marked and a CM would be happy to direct you to one.

No smoking on balcony's. If I recall, there is a spot behind the pool bar and an area outside the side door leading to the buses near the arcade.

We dont' smoke, I just remember from looking at the map.

There was a woman who got thrown out of the WL last year for smoking on the balcony.

I think there's a thread on here somewhere about it.

Really? I was told by CM's that they are not supposed to confront people. She must have really been flaunting the rules.

Seems like the smoking areas are in the most commonly travelled common areas like pools, main entrances to buildings, or ALL of Epcot.

Or maybe a guest in a room next to her's complained when he/she was sitting outside on the balcony having a nice breakfast and then was greeted by a bunch of foul smelling smoke. Not that I would know from first hand experience

I agree that alot of the smoking areas in WDW seem to be in high travel areas. I would love to believe that if if there were more directional signs pointing people to more hidden and out of the way places, they would be able to find them easier.

I was there last week and I was surprised how many people were smoking all over the resort. Even ride outside the doors people were smoking. I was really surprised.

I can't remember the exact numbers, but there was a fine of like $250 for smoking outside the room and like $500-750 in the room.

Ok, they weren't fines, but the person caught had to pay this to have the room or balcony or walk way cleaned of smoke.
